Croatian A1 League 2010

Competition began in Croatian A1 League.With two groups.Group A is for Play-off.And Group B is for Play-Out.In Group A is Cibona defending champion,rival Zadar,KK Zagreb CO,Cedevita with four teams from Croatian league 1.Svjetlost,Trogir,Darda and Zabok.First four teams will go to play-off.Next year in Euroleague is guaranteed for Cibona.



In Group B is former European Champion KK Split,Dubrovnik,Dubrava,Borik,Sibenik and Kastela.These teams will lead the battle for survival.

Cibona - Darda 98-54

Expected win by Cibona against the last ranked Darda. Bojan Bogdanovic (202-G/F-89) exploded with 29 points and 5 rebounds last night.



Trogir - Cedevita 70-97

Cedevita cruised past Trogir celebrating third victory in this stage. Marino Bazdaric (197-G/F-78) top-scored for the guests with 20 points and had 6 rebounds and 5 assists beside that.



Zabok - Svjetlost 108-88

2-3 for Zabok and 1-4 for Svjetlost after this meeting. Vladimir Kuljanin (208-C-85, college: NC-Wilmington) paced Zabok to victory with 20 points.



Play-out

Kastela - KK Split 70-88

Nice road win for Split, who got double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds from Josip Sobin (204-G/F-89).



Borik - Dubrovnik 103-76

Borik scored 103 points, what was way more than enough for comfortable win against Dubrovnik. Ive Ivanov (201-C-85) stepped up for the home side with 23 points and 6 rebounds.



Dubrava - Sibenik 103-73

Dubrava had couple of players in a game mood with Karlo Vragovic (192-G-89) leading the way with 23 points and 6 assists.

Cedevita jumped to 5-1 after 74-86 road win against Svjetlost. Andrija Zizic was a key player in this victory with 24 points.



Cibona - KK Zagreb CO 87-70

Cibona cruised past Zagreb in derby game of Round 7. Bojan Bogdanovic led Cibona to this comfortable victory with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists.Luka Zoric collected 26 points and 9 rebounds in defeat.

Zadar stays the only unbeaten team after 8 rounds in the second stage. This time, Zadar was too strong for Zabok on the road getting double-double of 29 points and 11 rebounds from Hrvoje Peric.In Zabok (3-5), Ivan Tomeljak netted 16 pts.



Svjetlost - Darda 90-81

Svjetlost outplayed Darda mostly owing to Fran Pilepic who drained 32 points.Visitors got 26 pts and 6 boards from Zvonimir Ridl. Both teams had 1-6 before this game.



KK Zagreb CO - Cedevita 72-80

Cedevita was better than Zagreb in derby game of Round 8. Damjan Rudez was a key player in this valuable victory with 26 points and 5 rebounds. Rudez made 6 of 10 attempts from behind the arc.I the loosing squad, Damir Mulaomerovic collected 22 points. Cedevita 6-1, Zagreb 4-3.



Trogir - Cibona 72-95

Expected win by Cibona, who improved to 6-2. Jamont Gordon led the way in victory with 16 points.Trogir (1-7) got 20 points from Luka Drezga.

Round 9 Review



KK Zadar was dominant against shorthanded Svjetlost Slavonski Brod and crushed them 130-73! Tomislav Ruzic was the best home scorer with 26 points and 9 rebounds. Matej Karlovic scored 30 points (6 three pointers).



Elsewhere Trogir ZP lost at home against KK Zagreb Croatia Osiguranje 69-86.

Cedevita Zagreb also won away against Vrijednosnice OS Darda 95-68.

Cibona - Zabok 103-66.

Svjetlost - Cibona 88-108

Cibona had no troubles taking one from Svijetlost as they rolled over them 88-108. Bojan Bogdanovic and Samo Udrih led the rout with 29 and 20 points respectively.Svijetlost got 19 and 18 points from Fran Pilepic and Matej Karlovic.



KK Zagreb CO - Darda 82-68

Zagreb also recorded home win as they have beaten Darda 82-68. Zagreb was led by Luka Zoric whom scored 24 points (12 rebs), while Andrej Stimac had 16 points and (also) grabbed 12 rebounds off the bench.For Darda, Danijel Katavic and Ivan Krolo had games worth mentioning after they have scored 21 and 16 points respectively.



Zabok - Trogir 93-89

Zabok was better then visiting Trogir as they won the game 93-89. Hosts got 20 points from Robert Lez as well as 16 from Danijel Krajacic.On the other side, Luka Drezga exploded for 29 points.

KK Zagreb CO - Zadar 101-75

KK Zadar lost its first game in domestic championship against KK Zagreb Croatia Osiguranje. They didnt just lose, they were humiliated, losing with 26 points difference. Andrej Stimac scored 19 points for hosts. He was in a big form against his former team. KK Zadar players looked really tired. Next for KK Zadar is another big test when they face KK Cibona VIP Zagreb and its going to be very interesting to see which KK Zadar will show up for that game.

KK Zadar suffered its second defeat in a row. It was another catastrophic loss against another team from Zagreb. This time they lost against Croatian basketball powerhouse KK Cibona VIP Zagreb. It was no match from beginning. Whole KK Cibona VIP Zagreb team was playing great game of basketball, specially Leon Radosevic who scored 20 points and Dalibor Bagaric with 14 points. Hrvoje Peric was best player for KK Zadar and he managed to score 23 points. With this victory, KK Cibona VIP Zagreb is first in the standings with 1 more round to be played.



Trogir - Darda 91-89

Thriller win for Trogir, who improved to 2-11 score, while Darda stays alone at the bottom (1-12).



Zabok - Cedevita 77-96

Cedevita blasted Zabok staying No.3 in the league with 10-3 record. Barisa Krasic exploded with 30 points and 5 rebounds in this victory. In Zabok (4-9), Ante Krapic collected 24 pts and 10 rebs.

Darda - Zabok 67-68

5-9 for Zabok (5th place) and 1-13 for Darda (last place) at the end of the regular season. Both teams failed to reach the Playoffs. Vladimir Kuljanin led Zabok to this victory with 11 points and 11 rebounds.



Playoff starts on 19 may, when Cibona meets Zagreb again, but this time on Cibona home floor.In second Cedevita meets Zadar.

Cibona - Zadar 76-80

Zadar did a great job in Game One of the Playoff Finals. They managed to beat Cibona on the road and to take 1-0 lead in the series. Rok Stipcevic and Marko Car stepped up for the guests with 19 points each. Trent Plaisted nailed 12 points. For the hosts, Marko Tomas collected 25 points and 5 rebounds. Game Two - Tuesday in Zadar.

Final (Game 2): Zadar - Cibona 77:72

KK Zadar was very lucky to grab 2-0 lead in the series at the end, because after KK Cibona VIP Zagreb started game slowly and found themselves in a big hole, trailing by 16 points at one stage, they found their shooting touch, specially Jamont Gordon who was cold during first half. He scored 25 points, all of them in second half.Tomislav Ruzic was KK Zadar top scorer with 22 points, while Rok Stipcevic added 15. Jamont Gordon was best KK Cibona VIP Zagreb player with 25 (4/11 for 3 points), Marko Tomas scored 23 points. Game 3 is in Zagreb on Saturday.
