Hehe, there r some nice ones <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' />
But, that 10th mascot is a little bit weird <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' />

My favorite is No. 8. The relation with Lithuanian history and BB tradition is very clear and it would be surely different than Mascots of 07, 09 Eurobaskets.

On the page now, please tell me that isn't the mascot of Eurobasket 2011? <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' />

Thanks for the reply man! The wolf was really cool. I'm surprised it wasn't chosen. The one chosen is also good though. Maybe they thought the wolf is more appealing to male children and less appealing to girls. Did you vote?

They should have taken the one that looks strikingly similar to Tomas Balaisis Sekla

That's EXACTLY what I was thinking of, the guys with their tympanies would be a cool mascot and it's something more or less exclusive to Lithuania seen in international competitions. The last pic of the wolf could be worked with as well, but not the robocop-looking one. The last one that was remotely plausible for a mascot was the stork, although we used it when we hosted Eurobasket in 1987 and won the gold, so... <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' />
But damn, a lot of the entries were just tasteless, uninspired crap (that includes the winning mascot as well, I can't work out what it is, is it a flame-headed basketball player?) with the epitome being the walking, talking 'basketball head' with buds of legs and arms. Seriously? Is that all people have today in terms of originality? <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/huh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' />

Lithuania has the highest density of storks in the world.
I learned this from a marketing brochure provided to me by Vilniaus Universitetas at a Study Abroad fair. It was one of 10 reasons why you should go to Lithuania. What a way to lure people to your country and hey in my instance in worked! True story.

Oh yeah? I didn't know that. I think a stork still would have been much more symbolic as a mascot than a turd-headed basketball player.

Having real Sekla and simuliacre "Sekla" as the mascot would be pretty awkward IMO...
