Supposedly Sofoklis Schortsanitis has rejected the offer of the Los Angeles Clippers because they money was too low (3 years $6 million gross and no agent fees paid) and should be joining Panathinaikos at 3 years â¬4.1 million euros net. Equals 3 years $10.5 million in the NBA contract because of the exchange rates, and the taxes and agent fees being paid by the club.
I'm not sure about this signing. He can easily replace Pekovic's low post scoring, but he's really only a 10 minute a game player in reality. It's true that sometimes he can play 20 minutes like last summer with Greece's national team, but he never maintains it. He is always having such up and down fluctuations with his stamina.
For this 3 year contract at â¬1.3 million net, â¬1.4 million net, â¬1.4 million net, I think PAO could have done better for that much money spent. It will be interesting to see what Obradovic does with him. Maybe he can finally get him to realize his potential, which would be a dream come true for the Greek national team.
I guess it's because he's so much cheaper to add than Aleks Maric, since Maric would cost â¬4.8 million net over 3 years with his salary demands, plus the buyout demands of Partizan.
Supposedly, Olympiacos is trying to get Trajan Langdon and Ramunas Siskauskas from CSKA. But the buyouts are very high. Supposedly said to be about â¬2 million euros buyout cost for each of them. However, from what I hear Olympiacos is trying to get them.

The Clippers offered Sofo $2 million per year, not $1 million.
Also, the name I think should be spelled Alfa Fasengas.

Well, Saras is asking for 700k for the season. Do the math.........
Maric for 1 million per season for 3 years plus 800k buyout = 4.8 million.
Sofo for 3 years 4.1 million
4.8 - 4.1 = 700k
Is it a coincidence that they chose to sign Sofo instead of Maric because he is cheaper and that the difference is exactly the amount of money that Saras is asking PAO for?

You are right. I wrote the wrong thing. But Maric is asking for 4 million for 3 years, not 3 million.

He's not that great man. I would compare him to a little bit bigger version of Levon Kendall but less athletic.

According to one of Serbia's daily newspaper, Dragan Todoric stated that Partizan has received acceptable offer for Alex Maric and that they will accept it. He said that it will be more clearer in a day or two.
