That's very good money for him (should be about 2mil euro per season). He won't get that in europe

That should be about what his demands were to Olympiacos (around 2 million euro a year).

GREAT player!!! LOVE him!!!

I've been following him since he played for Illinois..I really really hope it's true and that he would be a Maccabi player next year

No, just the same as always. Spanoulis situation with Olympiacos and the new tax laws in Greece is holding up all the moves in PAO-Olympiacos for the time being.

He's not right for a club like Maccabi. They can do better.

I disagree

I think he's just waiting to sign for a club like Maccabi and then everyone would start talking about him

plus,he's now playing for Utah in the summer league..he scored 20 points(9-10 from the field)in 21 minutes
He has a contract with Gran Canaria for next season.

anyway,i can't believe that a team like Maccabi are even looking at him.maybe a hard worker, but has nothing to do in Maccabi or other top Euroleagues clubs

He's not good enough for Maccabi. I've seen him play plenty of times. He's athletic and with his size could be a very nice player in theory. But he's just an average player to be honest. Trust me on this.

As for NBA summer league.......the second divisions in Italy and Greece are probably about the same level as NBA summer league. I would not base anything on NBA summer league.

I'm not saying he could not play in Euroleague or Maccabi because he could. But he would not help the club much at all IMHO.

I've watched him plenty of times too...I think he needs to be on a good team to reach his full potential...maybe i'm biased because I've been following him for a long time but...doesn't matter right now cause he didn't even sign

and yet Hendrix scored 6 points..in the ACB he scored a lot more on a regular bases..love Hendrix but the summer league is not that crappy..you still have to be good to score 9-10 from the field and 20 overall in 21 minutes

He has talent for sure because of his size and athletic ability. But he's really to me like a a guy that hustles and bangs for rebounds and stuff like that. I guess he could be a nice role player for Maccabi but they could do better IMO.

The NBA summer league is absolutely awful. It's a really, really, really, really low level. It's far below even the level of the D-League. It's basically just a glorified pick up game league. One of the main rules for example of summer league is do not pass the ball.

You can't base anything on NBA summer league. It's so far below the level of the Euroleague.

I know it's not great..trust me

I HATE the summer league..everyone wants to show that they have what it takes and no one passes the ball..I HATE IT(one of the reason why I don't like the NBA..not enough team play)

BUT

still..9-10 is still impressive..even if we're talking about the summer league

I think that he could be a good PF of the bench..lots of energy and hustle but since we already have 2 players on our team at the PF position(Hendrix and Kadir)I can't see Maccabi signing him AND 2 centers..and I would rather see 2 centers here..but that doesn't say that I wouldn't want to see him in Maccabi(because I don't think Kadir is good enough)
Matjaz Smodis could leave CSKA Moscow
