Why does Maccabi wants Saras anyway(i understand that they don't).....if they think that he is the Same player that left Maccabi 5 years ago...so they are wrong.

Saras is much Slower, his defence(wich wasnt great anyway)well he doesn't defend.

i guess that he will want big money...i can't understand that move,if it will be.

all the signs show that its going to be a wrong move for both sides.

I think if you used him as a 6th man combo guard type player, and on defense let him defend the two guard that he can still be very effective. Probably for 15-20 minutes a game he could still put up a lot of points and assists.

This would only work if the team's coach does not care about defense though. He's not the same player he was even 2 years ago, but he could still help Maccabi.

BTW, it's a myth Å aras can't defend in European courts. He is doing that smart, especially if he's holding the guy who is not a deadly shooter so he can keep a distance. His positioning is good and he knows where to put his body. Off course when Å aras in, the center should be ready to clean the boards while there will be players who will overcome Å aras. But this is not NBA where Å aras had major problems defending one on one.

Still all these discussions about Å aras IMO lacking one question - can he improve his current physical condition and to be a player something like he was in the Euroleague final 4 2008/2010? I believe he can improve at least a bit his current physical shape- that would make him 20-25 minutes player easily.

Saras is not coming to be the first or only PG.

he comes to give some intelligence on the court, help Perkins and Sceyer with his experience.

2-3 ass in a critical minutes, one triple and winner.

who said that sceyer is coming to maccabi?

His defense is better now than it was before. Obradovic demanded that he take more pride in it. So yes, his defense is better now. The problem is that he can only defend shooting guards that don't like to penetrate. If the other team puts a quick SG or a SG that likes to post then Saras struggles on defense.

But like I said, it just depends on the coach. He's best suited to play in a team that focuses on scoring and not defense. I'm not sure about playing him 25 minutes. That's too much to me. I would play him 15-20 and try to keep him fresh for the end of the season.

Not selected in the first round or not selected at all? Last year Calathes said he would go to Europe if he was not in the first round.

Accordind to Maariv, he has an agreemant with Maccabi.
#75

Maccabi and Sceyer.

According to one.co.il cibona will try to return Alan Anderson.
#78
@ panathinaikos: the coach next season will probably be pini, and pini doesn't give a shit about defense as long as the offense is fine, which means saras is safe <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

knowing ONE they probably took it from his fan page where he wrote ''maybe, next year, I'm going back to Cibona. MAYBE. sorry Maccabi fans but it's not the true yet. peace''

it's not like they actually have a source..they just want to be the first one to say ''told you so'' if and when he'll go back to Cibona.

about scheyer,I wish they would sign him already,he's a wonderful player and would probably get picked in the late second round..not before that..he's a great player..can't wait for the site that would announce his arrival to Maccabi.

Lietuvos Rytas signs american point guard Jerry Johnson for one year and Cemal Nalga for two years. According Jonas Vainauskas (Lietuvos Rytas GM) Johnson may be main point guard and Nalga will be in place of Aron Baynes. By the way, Vainauskas has said that Valančiūnas will be main center of Lietuvos Rytas <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ohmy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Ohmy' /> It looks strange because Valančiūnas only 18 years old.
