Cibona will not play next season Euroleague

Quote:Cibona next season will not compete in the Euroleague for the first time since there is competition. When the end of the season draw the line and add up points from all competitions, 'Wolves'how they call Cibona, have no chance to overtake Zagreb and Cedevita, says Jutarnji List.

There is a possibility that the Euroleague decided to award a 'wild card' to Cibona, but there is financial problems of the entire season and is unlikely to have money to pay.

Cibona on Adriatic list of Croatian clubs located on third place with 6 points. In front of Zagreb with 31 and Cedevita with 22 points.

I would like to see Cedevita playing in Euroleague.. <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

But one thing bothers me right now - where the hell all talents of Cibona will play? EuroCup? And when it comes to mind that some of youngsters extended their contracts..

Cedevita like club and like team are ok.But they don't have fans. And it would be stupid to see empty seats in Euroleague. <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bag.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Bag' />

Wouldn't it attract people to see Euroleague games? As for us in Lithuania, many people don't come to watch low-level games but just let to play any of other teams in European competition (Euroleague, EuroCup and EuroChallenge), then many people will gather to arena to see them playing. <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

With good comercial job they would have fans on games. People in Zagreb are bit difrent, as you can see in sample of hockey club Medvescak who has 5-7 thosend fans in evry game in Austrian hockey league, whille they had 4 times sold out Arena Zagreb for 16 thosends fans

Btw...agency that leads Medvescak enterd Cibona this week so I guess things are moving on better

Bogdanovic will leave to NBA or some EL club. For Radosevic and Zubcic NLB is still very good competition.

Cibona isn't that much better so it could beat Zadar with no problems and if you watched game you wouldn't claim that. Not to metnion that from Cibona pointof view it would be better if they got rid of Zadar because Croatia should have 3 cubs in NLB next season.

Firstly those clubs should pay pay-out for Cibona. And I can't see NLB being "very good". Useful - agree, "very good" - totally bullsh1t.

I know for Medvescak. But in Zagreb it's so popular hockey. And basketball with-out Cibona in Euroleague or Zadar it's not the same.

Bogdanovic is too weak for NBA imo... no defense whatsoever.

As for Radosevic he could fit in rotation of top clubs like Panathinaikos if you ask me.
Respect and thanks for everything:

Alvertis, Bodiroga, Jasikevicius, Radja, Wilkins, Vrankovic, Fotsis, Rebraca, Kattash, Gentile, Koch, Middleton, Kutluay, Rogers, Papadopoulos, Becirovic, Tomasevic, Siskauskas, Pekovic, Lakovic, Vujanic, Chatzivrettas, Maljkovic, Spanoulis and many more to follow in the near future.

NLB is one of best competitions is Europe, where last beats first regulary. Only ACB is clearley infront (by far) of NLB. Defenetley very good competition...after all....just check clubs thhrogh rosters season by season and you will find over 50 and more names in that are now in NBA and many difrent clubs in europe

If Giricek and Belinelli made there he can to...he is much more complete then they were....strenght....for Rudy, Giricek and Belinelli (totaly outplayed him on bouth sides last season) he looks like Bob Sap already

He can play decent defense, he showed that last season under Perasovic....all is up to him, how much he will work and how much desire does he have

Nevertheless, i really would like to c Cibona back on their feet for the next season, cause Partizan never had that kind of Arch-Rival like in Cibona <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Biggrin' />

I hope Cibona will be back on his feets again next season. They need to build a good team and don't overpay players. I hope they'll players who'll take them to another level and let them return to glory

That numbers say nothing...and compared to Euroleague, EuroCup, ACB (maybe TBL) that LNB is nothing. Of course LNB can be choice but it's not as good place as those players can find.

Eoroleague and ACB are beter of corse, best for sure, but that doesn't mean NLB (not LNCoolisn't very strong competition, nothing less than eurocup overall. 2 out 3 teams made to euroleague top-16 and 3 out of 4 have made to eurocup top 16 and this season was lowest in quality in last few years do to so many players left is prof of very good competition....They can't get anything more in few better games in eurocup besides more good games that they can get by playing with 2-3 euroleague teams and and 7-8 eurocup level teams

Anway from Cibona they say they will ask Uleb of WC for either Euroleague or Eurocup if cedevita doesn't qualify for Euroleague since cedevita failed to secure eurocup next season and they are 9 points behind Zagreb in race fore euroleague....even tough I don't think we deserved it or that we should play any of this. Club needs to stand on their feet first

P.S. Eurocup wouldn't atract more people than NLB. NLB games from our clubs are mostley more visited than Eurocap when our teams playing
