NBA Finals 2010
#1
Anybody watching 'em?

I'm no consistent viewer of NBA matches lately, but is it me or are the players playing more defense orientated games? Overall the scores seem low for 48 minute games, low %FT made, low 2p shooting?

I was watching game 3 on TV, and that was one sorry game. Ray Allen should have just been benched after not making one single shot <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Biggrin' />

Rondo has his hands tied by a solid defense from LA. I just don't get it however how this team with so much reliance makes it to the finals? Not that Kobe isn't the great that he is, but still, the teamwork doesn't appear enough to win? Boston seems to be playing with much more team spirit.

Opinions?

I guess these games have been some of the highest viewed finals games in recent years, yet I find myself totally bored by this matchup. I still watch the games because its basketball but I really do not care what happens. I'm more excited about the NBA draft than anything. Bring on the offseason!

Lol, was it that tubby Celtics center that was performing? If a guy like that can play, then there is a possible future for Sofo to be playing as well, if he loses some more weight <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Biggrin' />

Yeah, I'd say the quality of the games aren't amazing, you just see some flashes of amazing 1-on-1, but that's about it.

I'm watching it.. Missed game 4 cuz I was too tired..

The series isn't a very good one, too defensive, big players on both teams are not consistent.

I think the winner in game 5 will win this series, I can't see any of the teams win te last two in LA.

I'm enjoying these finals series, especially the games in Boston, where the scores are more Europe-like.

Great win for Celtics who now lead 3-2 but Lakers can take it in the end as they got the last two games in LA.

Both teams have great squads consisting of a mixture of world class scorers and great veterans.
Respect and thanks for everything:

Truth is that I considered them an "old" team but watching the finals I realised that they got one hell of a squad. Rondo, Allen, Peace, Wallace, Garnett, Big Baby etc.

Rondo has been disappointing in the finals, but Celtics' second team has stepped up big time in the last two games.

Yeah, but he still plays very good. When you watch his game you can't say bad things about him <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Biggrin' /> he's everywhere on the court <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Biggrin' /> He's universal. <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

Not too offensive game again, but the ending was great, too bad Artest choked in the end...

Bryant had an amazing begining for the 3rd quarter but the lakers defense sucked.

I think the Celts will win this one.. their team is more complete, when it comes to 2 last games the great experience will talk, and unless Kobe will have 2 crazy games I can't see the Lakers taking this championship.

Lakers tie the series 3-3 at home, easily I must say. Watch the highlights below:

There is no doubt, Boston Celtics superstar forward Paul "Truth" Pierce is one of the top players in the National Basketball Association today.

Despite his NBA superstar status, there is one thing certain Pierce is just a heck of a professional basketball player and not a prophet.

This developed after Pierce failed in his prediction that the Celtics will sweep the next three games of the NBA Finals against the Los Angeles which would be held at the Boston Garden.

In game three of the much talked about NBA Finals, the Lakers beat the Celtics 91-84 at the home-floor of the latter through the heroics of Lakers veteran point-guard Derek Fisher.

The defeat foils Pierce prediction that the Celtics will beat the Lakers three straight in their own home-floor.

Pierce made the bold prediction earlier after Pau Gasol committed a hard foul on Kendrick Perkins with 1:12 remaining in Game 2 and the Celtics leading, 97-90, Pierce, as he helped his teammate off the floor along the baseline near the hoop, was heard on video replays yelling, "We aren’t coming back to LA!"

The Celtics evened the NBA Finals at a game apiece with a 103-94 victory in game two of the NBA Finals. It is not the first time that Pierce made a bold prediction regarding the outcome of an NBA playoff series.

Pierce also predicted after a Game 2 victory against the Magic in Orlando, which gave the Celtics a 2-0 series lead, that they will close the series at home.

He even posted a message on his Twitter account saying the Celtics to sweep the Magic.

The prediction did not come true as the Celtics lost one of the next two games in Boston and returned to Orlando for Game 5, but eventually closed out the Magic in Game 6 in Boston.

With the controversy surrounding the prediction of Pierce, the Celtics and Lakers NBA Finals had become even more exciting for professional basketball fans around the world.

After 3 quarters it's 57-53, one of the worst NBA games I've ever seen.. But at least the ending will probably be tight <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tongue' />

Quote:Gasol MVP as Lakers win NBA title (vid)

Los Angeles Lakers have made the repeat and won their second NBA championship in a row, this time beating Bostoc Celtics, and taking revenge on the finals they lost to the Celts in 2008. Pau Gasol was MVP of the game scoring 19 points and grabbing 18 rebounds.

The game, as the entire series, resembled Euroleague games, with low scores (for NBA standards), a lot of passion, many turnovers and nervous players. The Celts were leading 23-14 by the end of the first quarter but in the second quarter Artest stepped up and Lakers took the lead 25-23.

Celtics had not said their final word though and they took the lead later on, this time double digits, 36-49. Then it was time for Kobe Bryant and Lamar Odom to shine and tie the game at 61-61 with just seven minutes to go. From that point on Lakers too the lead and never looked back. Final score was 83-79.

Los Angeles Lakers: Artest 20, Gasol 19 (18reb), Bynum 2, Bryant 23 (15reb), Fisher 10, Odom 7, Farmar, Vujacic 2, Brown, Powell

Boston Celtics: Pierce 18 (10reb), Garnett 17, Wallace 11, R.Allen 13, Rondo 14 (10ass), Davis 6, Robinson, T.Allen, Scalabrine
