This is the weakest draft in a while. I'm not excited about anyone....

I don't know about American players, but Europe has amazing bunch of talent in these drafts. Valanciunas might be one the best centers in NBA after 3-4 years, Vesely is amazing athlete even in NBA league, Motiejunas has some interesting old school skills, while Kanter is tough and you can expect things from him already.
#50
I've changed my mind since that post. I'm a little more excited. Im even having a watch party. Not so much because of the talent but because of the stories like Kyrie Irving, Jimmer Fredette. They seem like neat kids.

Your right this may be the strongest international draft ever. Europe, Canada, Africa, South America all have prime talents. Even the Americans have solid players. Still there are no "MASSIVE IMPACT" players. For example past MASSIVE IMPACT were Blake Griffin, Kevin Garnett, Tim Duncan, Shaquile Oneal, Lebron James, Dwight Howard, Kobe Bryant. There are no players in the draft that will have MASSIVE IMPACT first year.

Do you believe that Jonas will be better center than Dwight Howard in 4 years? Dwight will be 29 then. So it's possible. Pau Gasol is 31 and puts up great numbers at his age.Shaq won a championship at 34. Even Sabas and Vlade were good in late 20's early 30 age. Also how well do you expect Jonas V will be first year?
#51
Centers age better, utilising their accumulated experience.

As for Valanciunas, right now he is too weak and foul prone for NBA.
Respect and thanks for everything:

The best thing for Valanciunas is to stay in Europe for at least one more year, than he would probably could try to have some minutes in NBA. He's improving his body pretty fast and gradually, but he obviously needs at least 2 more years to fight as equal with NBA bigs. All other Europeans, specially Vesely and Kanter are ready to take a shot.

As for Howard, I doubt Valanciunas will ever be as strong as him <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' /> And probably won't be that good, but you never know.
#53
Everyone knows about Jonas V buyout of $3 million dollars. Now it seems Bismack Biyombo has a buy out issue as well. $1.5 million dollars. I wonder if these buyouts are legal. In the case of Bismack he was in youth league last season and was called up to higher division play. There is no way he had a $1.5 million contract before the NBA interest. I'm calling BS. I'd sue if I were the player.

Zydrunas Ilgauskas retired from basketball!

Well, he chose to play in the NBA and he was a mediocre player through his career. <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bag.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Bag' />

He could have a much better career in Europe and he could do great things with Lithuania's NT!! <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Too bad he didn't won a championship. He could probably made it if he could play for one more year with Miami! <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Cool' />

I don't think they will though! <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' /> <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Biggrin' />

^ I disagree. Ilgauskas had a really strong career in the NBA. He is a 2 time All Star and was the number 2 man on the Cavs team that got to the finals.

Through the transitive property we can deduce:

LeBron + Ilgauskas = Losing in the NBA Finals

LeBron + Wade + Bosh = Losing in the NBA Finals

Therefore Ilgauskas = Wade + Bosh <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Biggrin' />

Seriously now, if you are discussing the past 2-3 seasons then yes I agree that he was just ok, but his career in the NBA is something to be proud of.

Although Lithuanians will never admit it, he is one of the best Lithuanians of all time. The fact that he didn't play for the national team kills his shot at legendary status but it is certainly not due to his level of play.

He tried to play for the NT in the 2008 olympics but the Cavs blocked it from happening. Then the Cavs lost LeBron. Karma is a b*tch! <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rofl3.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Rofl3' />

Maybe you're right but I still think he was, let's say -a little bit- above average player! <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Cool' />

By the way, in Cavs, behind LeBron was none. He went to the finals by himself! <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bag.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Bag' />

LA Lakers want Chris Paul and Dwight Howard!!!!

According to the article, Lakers want to sign them but they will have to "sacrifice" other players like Bynum, Gasol etc!

I think that we're going to see an awesome postseason!!!

I've also heard that Heat want VC and that they're also looking forward to sign free agents Battier and Oden!!!! <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Another scenario, says that they want T-Mac too!! <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

If they sign all these players + LeBron, Wade and Bosh they'll UNSTOPPABLE!!!! <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

If this goes ahead Miami's Lebron, Bosh and Wade will be Small Three in front of them.

Anyway, for Miami I think it's Big Two!!!

Like Shaq said, Bosh shouldn't be considered as "big"!!! <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' />

Just compare them to Garnett-Pierce-Allen...! Bosh is not even close to that level! <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/baby.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Baby' />

He's in the same(or lower) level with Rondo!
