Ignore him. It was obvious that the refs called it for Spain. Greece should have won the game. Just like the the game in 2007.

Well Greece was capable of winning the game. It gets pretty ball-busting to any player's psychology when he gets hammered by the defense on one end, and then he gets called for flagrant fouls. The worst was giving those 3 free throws to Fernandez when he was fouled on the dribble on the 3 point line. Crediting a basket to Spain when Fotsis clearly and legally goal tended after the ball bounced once on the basket. It's like the refs didn't need to even bat an eyelid when it was to give a favourable call to Spain. But this kind of approach has been repeated by Spain, and our ass-kissers in Greek basketball federation wouldn't want to put in complaint about the abysmal refereeing because they all hope one day to get a promotion to a FIBA hot seat. This type of 'thinking' is very typical back home and is not even uncharacteristic of our politicians <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mellow.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Mellow' />

It does not give any excuse for other fans to claim the game was reffed fairly. In fact, I've never EVER seen Lithuania get reffed like that ever.

Well we better start learning to properly drain the three, especially on a wide-open shot without a defender. Spain today was scared shitless of Serbia's 3p shot, hence not playing much zone, and still they got punished. We can make mid-range shots, but need to implement that more into our game. Biggest annoyance throughout the years has been our crappy free throw percentage. It's really inexcusable for any NT player to be shooting free throws under 70-80% <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thudown.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mellow.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Mellow' />

That's why Kazluaskas is such a moron. Greece has some outstanding shooters like Vasileiadis and Charalampidis, that are also very good players and they were not put on the team. We would have probably never even seen zone with those two on the team. You are talking about two of the best shooters in Europe. Instead players like Calathes and Vougioukas were on the team.

If Greece does not select Charalmpidis and Vasileiadis next summer then the management behind the national team is just hopeless. They simply refuse for whatever reason to put a shooter on the perimeter. If Greece had no shooters, it might be understandable, but as it is, choosing year after year to not take two of the best shooters in Europe into the team is just totally asinine.

Obviously you have not watched much basketball. Vasileiadis is the best shooter in Europe. No one other than Navarro compares to him. Charalmpidis is one of the best.
