#1
One evil empire against the other. Once upon a time an instant classic, but not anymore...

USA have clear upper hand here...
Respect and thanks for everything:

Alvertis, Bodiroga, Jasikevicius, Radja, Wilkins, Vrankovic, Fotsis, Rebraca, Kattash, Gentile, Koch, Middleton, Kutluay, Rogers, Papadopoulos, Becirovic, Tomasevic, Siskauskas, Pekovic, Lakovic, Vujanic, Chatzivrettas, Maljkovic, Spanoulis and many more to follow in the near future.

As much as I want David Blatt to succeed, odds aren't looking too good.

Blatt is trying to establish the atmosphere of cold war before the game, but only Mazgov can safe this game if he will crash Durrant and couple of more most effective USA players <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Rolleyes' /> One sided game, Russia is just too limited...

Blatt is trying to establish the atmosphere of cold war before the game

[/quote]

Why? Because he told the truth about the 1972 game?

See what western media does? God forbid someone tells the (inconvenient for USA) truth then he automatically becomes a "danger", a "threat", a "communist" and a "cold war nostalgist"...

Give us a break...

Isn't it supposed to sound rediculous considering the fact that Blatt was born and raised in USA? <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tongue' />

as for the game:I'm with Blatt but I think USA's just too strong for them, especially with JR Holden and Kirilenko missing, I think both Blatt and Russian NT should be proud of their achievment, but I can't see them go any further

No chance for Russia, but I would like to see one of their last games of the tournament take place with some good accuracy in their passes, plays, and 2p shots made <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

Yet another totally rigged game by the refs. This is getting ridiculous now.

Coach K actually said Blatt was Russian and US media was trying to claim he was not American. Typical US media.

Wait, so now FIBA refs are Pro-American? I think FIBA refs might just be bad in general, with no allegiances.

Secondly, don't get me started on the US media, they've got to sell air time, that's all that matters to them. ESPN is a plague on sports.

Thirdly, every American basketball fan is raised to think that 1972 game is b^llsh^t, right or wrong. However, I'll take Coach K's word over anyone's 100% of the time.

Coach K is an arrogant asshole. If I was Blatt and he claimed I was Russian and not American I would have gone up to Coack K and knocked him out. Stuff like that is unacceptable behavior where I come from.

Just like Coaching the Rooskies when you're American is unacceptable where I come from(not really). BTW Coach K and the Devil are old friends, so punching him in the face would make a powerful enemy.

You didn't watch the game? It was one of the tournament's best blocks.

Of course he won't be going home when the REFS are giving him and his teammates call upon call! o_O

Don't worry. One more game of ref fixing for the US and then they will get their ref screw job when they play the Turks.

It's a shame I couldn't watch the game yesterday. But it certainly was a much more interesting game than I expected. Great job by Russia.
