You can't say he hasn't been a great presence for the NT so far all the years he's played? Who, apart from Fotsis will be able to play aerial defense like he does? He has great accuracy from the free throw line and is a much better 3p shooter than many of our guards. This PAO-Oly opposition bollocks is just out of control. If Bouroussis was playing for Aris, and it was PAOK - Aris playing in the finals like in the old days, I'd still want Bouroussis on the NT, or would you perhaps like to re-call Papadopoulos once again? <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rofl3.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' />

I will keep calm and not name Zouros any bad words... but not calling Pat Calathes, best Greek A1 player of last season is a joke.

Who the hell is Bramos? <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' />
I agree, it's shocking that Pat hasn't been called. Good to see however Sloukas and Papanikolaou having a chance <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' /> Together with Fotsis' deadly 3p shot, we need support from the new guys to nail shots from trey land. Now it will be interesting to see how much Sofo steps up and plays consistently, it's good to hear that he is in a very fit state now, compared to his old pizza-smuggling days. Mavrokefalidis played really well in this season's A1 finals, I expect to see his solid mid-range jumper helping us out a good deal <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
Nothing really to say about the old guys, I just hope that we don't play any last second games and we need a 3p shot and Spanoulis take it <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' /> That crap needs to stop, put it in Fotsis hands instead. Bouroussis will need to play a big tournament to clear his name even if the anti-doping results didn't bring up him having taken anything (although it's highly likely he got it out of his system before samples were being taken).
I'm also hoping for leadership from Zisis this time round, he's proved he's got the skills, he needs to believe in himself and control the team intelligently with Nick on his side as his sidekick, specializing in making quick buckets under opponent's asses and arms <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' />

On the bright side the rebuilding procedure started. The average age of this squad is 25.5 years and only Fotsis is 30 or older...

Didn't borousis quit the NT? and even if he changed his mind, it doesn't look very good to include a player that just recently was involved in a doping scandal..

Blood and urine samples were taken by the Greek branch of WADA (ESKAN) from Bourou, analyzed, and the results came out clean, so no, he is not involved in any doping scandal technically, although most athletes take all sorts of shit that can be 'flushed' out of the system in a matter of hours leaving no traces behind. No matter what the case is, there is no evidence to show that he took banned substances, so he can carry on with his professional duties as is <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
Also I do think Papas (as well as Pat Calathis) should have had a chance to run for the NT. These guys need bug game experiences even if it means that they sit on the bench most of the time.

I don't know.. Technically he's clean and everything's fine but the published phone calls leave no doubt to anyone, after all that he's gonna walk away clean? He can keep his career both in club and NT competitions? I really don't like it. Athletes that do what he did shouldnt be able to just walk away with no harm.

Well you see at the same time there is no damning evidence of him having taken anything illegal, where in the published phone calls he only mentions 'drug', and it is pretty vague as to whether this is something legal or not. The guy who Bourou was talking to however is involved in a massive football matches fixing scandal and is currently being questioned (and I think held) by the authorities.

Well, the doping control that Bourousis asked was ridiculous. You can't find something in the blood after so many weeks. I think he should tell the truth... it will be better.
Now, about the call in the national team, maybe the most of the Greeks we don't want him after all but by the time coach called him I support him because I only care about the best for the team.
So I will cheer for every basket he makes or any block or any rebound...

^ I don't think Bourou will want to jeopardize his career prospects by 'coming clean' <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' />
It's all blown over now, it's too late for anything.
Mitso's decision was final it seems, not even the self-proclaimed big man (old fart) of basketball, Vasillakopoulos could sway Mitso's decision. Well, now it's time for the new young guns to step up and make us proud. Diamandidis has set the bar VERY high for how a terrific Greek point guard should play for the NT. I hope we see a new rough 'diamond' in the making soon enough <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' />
