2010/11 Euroleague Random News, Comments, Interviews etc
#1
I created a new media tag which will enable users to post Euroleague TV videos directly to the forum. All you need to do is to click on Media button and paste the link to the video.

An example of how the code should look like:

Code:
[media]http://euroleague.infrontams.tv/loadVideo.php?id=3175[/media]

Since Euroleague TV uses iframe for the embedding of their videos, the videos start to play automatically. That might be annoying so it's better no to post too many EL TV videos in one thread so that they don't start playing all at the same time.

To avoid automatically loading videos such as this you can get the flashblock add-on for your browser (I use firefox)

It blocks all flash videos and ads, so they open only if you want them do, by click on them. For example the above video looks like this in my browser:

Nice!

I hope Anzulovič has more ideas and not only "fast and agressive basketball".

While watching CSKA-Rytas game tonight I came to a surprising conclusion...

CSKA this year got one hell of a roster!

Tonight they were playing without Holden, Khryapa, Kaun and Vorontsevich!

Black Urum: Do you know a site where I can watch CSKA games? Also what players should I look out for on that team? I believe CSKA is coming to USA to play the Miami Heat. that should be interesting! Thanks

We post links in the relative threads. Today "straight forward" had posted some links at the VTB League thread since the game was for that league.

We will be regularly posting links at the Euroleague live and free games thread.

Some CSKA players to watch for:

Ramunas Siskauskas: The leader and star of the team, one of the best all-around stars of Euroleague, he can create his own shot and execute, with great dribble.

Matjaz Smodis: After two seasons of injuries he seems to be back in shape, a great European PF

Jamont Gordon: A really good combo guard who will get a lot of minutes as JR Holden is out indefinitely. He drives good, he plays good defence and he got decent shot.

Boban Marjanovic: This guy is a beast. But it's his first year in high calibre club and competitions. He will only get better udner coach Vujosevic, but the raw material and muscle is definitely there.

Trajan Langdon: One of the best Americans in the history of Euroleague. Great sharp shooter. Doesn't seem on form lately, but he'll get there.

Alexey Shved: Far from being a complete player, but one of the greatest prospect of Euroleague. Needs to bulk up and build confidence to score more. Great feeling for assists, should see some minutes off the bench.

Khryapa: played in NBA.

Kaun: Won NCAA championship.

JR Holden: Euroleague legend, out with heart problems

Vorontsevich: Great breakthrough tournament at World Championship, injured.
Respect and thanks for everything:

Alvertis, Bodiroga, Jasikevicius, Radja, Wilkins, Vrankovic, Fotsis, Rebraca, Kattash, Gentile, Koch, Middleton, Kutluay, Rogers, Papadopoulos, Becirovic, Tomasevic, Siskauskas, Pekovic, Lakovic, Vujanic, Chatzivrettas, Maljkovic, Spanoulis and many more to follow in the near future.

As a fellow yank, you'll certainly recognize the former Duke sharp shooter, Trajan Langdon. He's made a heck of a name for himself in Europe namely with CSKA.

CSKA also have Ramunas Siskauskas who in my opinion is the best current player to have never played in the NBA.

You may also know Viktor Khryapa for the years that he played for the Trailblazers/Bulls and you may remember Sasha Kaun from the University of Kansas. The depth of CSKA is visible when they have a guy like Matjaz Smodis who may come off the bench.

CSKA is probably the best team with Barsa in Euroleague on the paper this season. Having in mind they have such players as Šiškauskas and Smodiš, the paper means reality <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' /> Black Urum is right, their roster is deep as hell and I can see them in the final.

@@ Black: Thanks for the break down! As luck would have it CSKA are coming to play the OKC Thunder! JR Holden is sick! It's unfortunate that that he is hurt.

@@Skangles: Yeah Trajan Langdon was great at Duke. Him and Elton Brand were dangerous together. He was very precise. Everything you would expect from a Duke guard. As a UNC fan I hated them of course but I couldn't deny how great that team was. Coach K can pick talent. ;-)

JR Holden was given the go-ahead to return to action, but he might miss the US tour and stay behind to get in shape.

As for coach K, he is good at picking talents, and good at killing them, like Pocius. Thanks god he finished college and got back to Europe or he would have had to change profession.

At the same time injuries was killing Pocius. That was the main reason why he couldn't show his best in NCAA.

A true fighter, I feel so bad for him.. He was in the best season of his career and suddenly this horrible injury came. I hope he'd play for Maccabi, his fighting spirit, killer defense and connection with the fans reminds me a lot of Derrick Sharp (too bad he can't shoot threes like Derrick <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Biggrin' />) but even if he doesn't stay with us, I hope this unique player will get over this tough injury.
