Tonight is the last friendly game for Slovenia. Playing against Lithuania in Ljubljana.
The 12 players going to the tournament are more or less known, MaljkoviÄ just has to choose between Rupnik and BlažiÄ, but he already said that Rupnik will probably be the one.
G. DragiÄ, J. LakoviÄ, L. Rupnik
Z. DragiÄ, S. Ožbolt, S. Udrih
E. MuriÄ
E. Lorbek, M. Smodiš, G. Jagodnik
U. Slokar, M. BegiÄ
Not the strongest team, after all the cancelations Nachbar's injury really hit us hard so Z. DragiÄ will probably play mostly on the F position. I would love to see someone else instead of Udrih but this is what we have and lets hope for the best.

Our offense is indeed hurt without Nachbar, but Z. DragiÄ isn't the only one who can play the SF position - MuriÄ can do it also! They play the defense equally good, the difference is DragiÄ is better in rebounding and speed, while MuriÄ is better offensively. I hope one of them "explodes" on Eurobasket.

MuriÄ will of course play on the SF position, he is the only real SF on the team. What i meant is that dragiÄ wont play a lot on the sg position(if ožbolt and udrih start their game badly they usually play like crap), where he can be a real threat. He is indeed a very bad shooter but a great defender and rebounder and he can penetrate effectively. With nachbar we could use him more on the sg position. He wouldn't be a threat from beyond the arc, but im sure he would alternate our game in a way and be a viable option to play and force the oposition to adapt because he is a real hustler and can steal quite a few offensive rebounds if nothing else. Even with nachbar gone I expect MaljkoviÄ to use him on the sg position in combination with muric on sf. We would lack on shooting( although muric has improved), but our big men can compensate because all of them( except begiÄ) are decent 3pt shooters. With g. dragiÄ on point along with z. dragiÄ and muriÄ we have a high energy, athletic, fast and very aggresive trio that can cause problems to many teams. It's a shame that both z. dragiÄ and muriÄ don't have a lot of experience but I really think they can give a lot to this team. Not necessarily points, but solid defense, good rebounding, a few steals and a big energy boost.
I wouldn't call muriÄ a better offensive player. He is a better shooter( still average at best) but zoran can get to the basket in ways that muric can only dream of, while still hitting a 3pt shot here and there or scoring an easy basket from a good offensive rebound.

SLOVENIA - LITHUANIA
80:66 (26:12, 26:21, 10:13, 18:20)
Lorbek 13, Slokar 12, LakoviÄ in Ožbolt po 10, G. DragiÄ 8, BegiÄ 7, Jagodnik in Z. DragiÄ po 6, SmodiÅ¡ 5, MuriÄ 2, Udrih 1; PetraviÄius 15, Jankunas in Kaukenas po 9.
Slovenia won the game against Lithuania. We played a solid game, better than what we saw against Spain, but i think we can still improve. Decision making on the offensive end could be better and we allowed a tad too many open shots. The start of the second half wasn't exactly brilliant but ok, it didn't hurt us much. It's good to see begiÄ finally playing a solid game, hopefully we can expect the same from him in Lithuania.
