Very interesting match-up, Maccabi has fought past home court disadvantage before and won. Caja however is no newbie to tough situations of the Euroleague either, and having home court advantage will definitely mean a lot, and for that I'd give Caja the advantage over Maccabi overall.

I don't know why everyone have Maccabi down as favourites. They failed to impress in Top16. And they lost at Vitoria hands down earlier in the season...

Things changed a lot since the first game, maccabi also got a double-digit victory over them in Tel Aviv. It should be tough due to lack of home advantage but they managed to lose at home to teams like Prokom Zalgiris and Rytas.

I truely think this is a 50-50 one, much because they have a great match up against us. But by law I must vote for Maccabi <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Biggrin' />

If we win one of the first two, we probably are going to be in Barcelona otherwise it's gonna be very hard.

Very interesting match-up but I think that Caja Laboral will advance

Depends. Both teams are a little bit unpredictable this season, but both have tools to go further. I have more trust in Caja Laboral somehow.

Caja scored 13 3pointers with 50%.. what a surprise. It was so obvious but if it happens to so many teams I guess it's just something you can't stop, I mean these guys can shoot with 3 hands on their face.

Who really surprised me for the good was Richard Hendrix, once again he's there for Maccabi in a tough away game against a strong team (last time it was Barca). The guy had a monster game of 16 points and 16 rebounds (holy f*ck) and all that in 21 minutes, amazing. he also had 4 blocks. and he did it when playing not in his real position (he's a PF not a C) and against much taller guys, seriously- I'm impressed.

Blatt tried to give us a little surprise putting Macvan in the starting line up but it didn't go to well, he was hesitating too much, gave up on 2 open shots from the 3 point line but then he took a hard one on his defender, also committed 2 turnovers and was a big hole on defense, so far it's a bit weird because I don't expect him to be the team star all of a sudden but a guy with such potential as it was said many times can't be that bad.. I hope and believe the problem is him joining in the middle of the season and I think next season we'll see a different player.

The bad side was, well pretty much most of the important player- Sofo was doing stupid fouls outside on guards that weren't even looking at the basket, was a black hole on defense when they could score on him on every chance and was pretty much useless on offense.. I hope to see a different Sofo tommorow. Pargo was only the shadow of the guy we've seen leading this team in the top 16, he was taking stupid shots and very bad decisions Especially when penetrating-when he needed to pass he was shooting and when he needed to shoot he would give a stupid pass that'd cost a turnover. Eliyahu also was disappointing but unlike the other guys it was obvious that it was just bad luck, he was taking his regular high percentage shots and was doing everything right on offense, it's just didn't go in and I'm sure it won't happen again in this series (a guy of 72%FG in the top16 shot 5/14..)

Even though we lost this game it left me kind of optimistic, because with a horrible day of 3 VERY important players we were still there for the entire game and lost by only 6, and that's with Caja shooting 50% from the 3 which is too much even for that crazy team (if I'm not wrong they have a season stat of 38%).

Now it's all up for the 2nd game, if we win I think we can handle them in Yad Eliyahu, if we lost than I think it's their series, maybe even before the 5th game.

I know, they're a crazy 3pt team, that's why I said it was so obvious but it's something you can't stop.

However, they did beat Pao in Vitoria by 7 with 7 or 8 three pointers with % not as crazy

Pargo clinches the big win with the big 3, but I think no one can complain about Sofo's performance today with 22 points with 10/15 2p <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Cool' />

Wow what a game.. Once again it went pretty much like the first one, this time Caja made the run in the 2nd quarter as that was when most of their 3s came, Maccabi once again counter-attacked in the 3rd but this time managed to complete the comeback, fell down again in the end of the 4th with Mirza three pointer making it 81-77, Eliyahu that before that took a stupi three pointer made his classic move, scored an 'and one' and made it 81-80 to complete 7 for him in the last minutes, Huertas I think lost the ball and Pargo was sent to the line by Huertas and scores 1 making it 81-81, Logan took it all the way but couldn't hit the rim and Maccabi tookthe rebound, Pargo killed the clock unroll there were 5 second, took it on Logan and nailed the mid-range shot to win this game.

Pargo-a good game, made the better decisions and could penetrate and finish it whenever he wanted, I'd like to see him does that more. No word can be said about the game winning shot except for CLUTCH.

Hendrix-wasn't amazing but gave great defense once again blocking Caja's big men with 3 this time making it 7 block in 35 minutes in the series.

Sharp-didn't play but I'm sure he did his thing from the bench <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Biggrin' />

Blu-was horrible in the 1st game and in this one's first half but showed Blatt's trust was worth it nailing 4 crucial threes.

Eliyahu-wasn't there in the beggining, was bad on D but in the money time after Sofo was out he made a few important basket and one very stupid shot for 3 that didn't cost us the win luckily.

Pnini-couldn't nail his threes but was there for Maccabi, was doing a great job on D as usual and had a few baskets in crucial moments, was much more efficient from the SF than Eidson.

Burstein-didn't get minutes in game1 and showed why in his few minutes in this one when all he did sums up to missing a layup and being completely useless on both ends.

Eidson-unlike game1 didn't show up, had a few good moments but generally keeps the line of not showing up to big games and the existance of his balls is still questionable.

Macvan-wasn't really there but I can't judge him until the next season, did show he wanted and fought with a lot of spirit.

Perkins-as usual gave around 303%, did all he could on both ends and gave a few great dunks that gave a boost to Maccabi's morale, also had some nice assists.

Sofo-at last the giant showed up to a game against Caja, after 3 horrible ones he had a great game, espeically in the first half where he held Maccabi alone. Too bad his mistakes in the pick n roll on defense were piling up as fast as his points did.

Overall a good performence for Maccabi even though Caja shot in 50% from the 3 again just like game1 this time recording 10/20.

If Caja manage to win in Tel Aviv it could be for only one obvious reason-the threes cuz if they don't sink them like crazy then I really don't think they can prevent Maccabi from going to Barcelona.

PS-thanks Black Urum.

2 headlines of today's game

1)Maccabi beats Caja 81-60 to get the 2-1 lead

2)Doron Perkins, the minister of defense is injured and maybe finished his season <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Sad' />
