Then Maccabi don't need to play final 4. C'mon now the whole europe should adjust to one Israelien team. Oh please. Nobody is going to miss them if they don't play. How many other countries plays games on their "special" holidays. Man if you ask me thats BS. The time is set. If you are ready come and play if not then stay at home.
P.S. On final for i cheer for Obradovic. Not for PAO. Obviously i don't like the team of PAO. You have DD who is spitting in opponents faces and so called "beast" stepping on opponents heads. But i respect Obradovic and i cheer for him.

Maccabi made sure they know about the problem as soon as the date was decided but Jordi decided to ignore thinking Maccabi won't make it to the FF.
Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't the Euroleague give a week off on Christmas?
The solution of making it earlier isn't great but it's too late for different solutions, also if it'd happen it won't be the first final to be early (Moscow 2005).
If Euroleague would have shown slightly more consideration when it was mire possible none of this would happen, if Euroleague decides to ignore Maccabi's request and give an ultimatum I suppose Maccabi won't play, too bad since it deserves this spot and earned it fair and square and maybe one of the 20 teams that failed to reach the FF would get their spot.
Considering how easy it was to solve 4 or 5 months ago it really sucks.

Dimantidis is the greatest player in europe -like it or not- and Batiste is at the top-3 centers in europe.

If was Serbian team in this position like Maccabi than i doubt that Euroleague will listen at all. <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' />

Well, taking that Maccabi is excellent team, has rich history but not very much influence in the EL infrastructure this days, I don't know will they even listen to them..?

There's some sort of a problem with the final falling on the Israeli memorial day for fallen soldiers and terror attacks casualties.
Probably it will be solved (I hope) by moving the final a couple of hours earlier, you can read more in the Caja Laboral vs Maccabi TA quarterfinal thread.

True, but in Euroleague basketball competition there is nothing more important than basketball.

Since tickets went online and before the quarter finals were decided the tickets sold/bought were as following:
2564 Barcelona fans
689 Maccabi fans
602 Panathinaikos fans
516 Olympiacos fans
172 Real Madrid fans
I'm surprised at the low number of Real Madrid and Caja Laboral fans... seems they have no fate in their team...
Anyway, since the FF teams were decided many, mainly Barcelona and Olympiacos fans, are selling their tickets, while Maccabi fans still don't know whether to buy or sell...
Also, each team has received 1000 ticket to hand them accordingly...

Finally it's over, the final will start at 16:30 CET.
BTW Black Urum, from what I read here in Israel Maccabi fans already got 1,500 packages to the FF (and that's before the decision was taken to make the final at 16:30)

No more hiccups from now on. It's up to Maccabi now to play through to the finals to make this whole re-arrangement worthwhile <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' />

The final at 16:30... what a shame... is amazing this joke competition.
Why when Pamesa Valencia, years ago, refused to go to Tel Aviv play a Top16´s game, the Euroleague, instead of changing the day, decided to punish them?
The same measure for some teams and others, please

Pamesa didn't ask to change the day, they decided they won't show up if the game will take place it Tel Aviv, and not because the date wasn't comfertable for them.
They didn't want to show up fearing the situation in Israel (2004 was in the 2nd intifada) and many speculations said it was part of the efforts moving the FF from Tel Aviv, as some teams pressured the Euroleague to do so.
BTW, other teams also came to Israel in this season, Maccabi took care of their safety and no one got hurt or risked in any sort of way.
Please at least know what you're talking about before saying bullshit.

I don't mind if he doesn't think it's the wrong choice to make it earlier, it's his opinion and he has a right to have it but comparing it to the story with Valencia and writing wrong things about it as facts is in one word lying and I only answered.
BTW we now know participant number 4 in the FF-Real Madrid that beat Valencia in the 5th game
