I wonder if Diaw will step up ever again and become the big player he was years ago?
What happened to him and he deflated from the NBA's best 6th player/most improved player (one of the two) to him basically disappearing?

He gain weight. When he was MIP in the league he took care of his body. And the you see him on eurobasket with a belly. Can't have the same success with belly.

Sure, I remember that, you're right, but still I feel there was something more than what meets the eye, how can someone go from hero to zero at such an alarming rate? <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' />

France's roster is absolutely stacked. They remind me of what Spain used to be in football (until the past couple of years), they have all of the individual talent in world but they consistantly underperform as a team.

So far I haven't seen any French NBA player who has shown consistent high performance for the French NT. Tony Parker was overhyped, Diaw's a fat ass, so who does this leave to pull the team in front? It appears that they are going to struggle on the international basketball level if they don't have good French players playing in Europe too.

Since when has whatever Batum said been of any importance? <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' />

France will be strong, but I can't see them winning it all while Spain, Lithuania and Serbia come red hot. Besides these, Turkey and a lot of other teams should be at the hight level.

Talking about France now, that would be quite pompous sounding <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' />

Good news for France. On the paper, they are at the same level with Spain - filled with star players. I would carefully put them among top5 teams. Depends how they will work together and the attitude. One thing for sure, names never gave any guarantees for France.

The French NT mimics that Spanish football NT (for many, many years until that last World Cup), consistenly underperforming yet having great players on the team. France hasn't been building properly on its past success (like in Sydney's Olympics), and this could perhaps be a good reason why they're still a shaky team.
