2nd Group Stage - Day 2

[quote name='TeoTheGreek13' timestamp='1315691036' post='33799']

Is almost for sure that something happend between Zouros and Bourousis that had as a result Bourousis' absence from the whole 2nd half. <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mellow.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Mellow' />

Zouros was asked about that from a foreign journalist and he said that is something between them.

Well, that's the last thing we need now.

I would be very pleased if had an issue with Xanthopoulos and Kaimakoglou, that would be good!!! <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rofl3.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Rofl3' /> <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rofl3.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Rofl3' /> <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rofl3.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Rofl3' />

***I don't know why but I'm sure that somehow we will play against Spain <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thudown.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />, is like an institution!!! We meet each other every year starting from Mundobasket final in 2006.

In 2007 we matched twice!

We lost every single game, so it's not the best for us to meet them!!! <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thudown.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

You could be right Theo, but I have my doubts. He did put Kaimakoglou on Kirilenko towards the end though, and I don't know why. That was a bad move!! He did some other weird moves as well, but I'm thinking he was either experimenting and testing the waters with players positions and pressure, or he is plain stupid. And I don't think he's stupid. <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Blink' />

Just because I'm very optimistic with the NT in general I want to believe it's true!!

The thing that concerns me a lot now, is the issue between Bourousis(our second best player) and Zouros. And that's because it may have negative consequences for the team. <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thudown.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

As I said, is the last thing we need.

If in the knock-out round, everyone give everything he got(including Zouros <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' /> ) we have some good chances for an upset!!!

Bouroussis was pretty bad today, seems like he needs more doses of 'medicine' to be jumping high again like in the last Greak league finals. He was getting the ball under the basket and not dunking the hell outta it <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mellow.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Mellow' />

Hey optimism is good, but realism is another story. This isn't a dream team, but I think we can knock out France if we play a very good game. I don't think Spain will sit there and lose to France. I can't say much on Bourousis and coach. We know nothing, so we assume it's all well. There could be many factors why he didn't play as many minutes, so why jump to conclusions!! Georgia is what I'm concentrating on right now. We need to demolish this team as it's ripe for the picking. Stop fretting dude. It's all good.. <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Biggrin' />

Afraid? No, just thinking Macedonia would fit better for us <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' /> Russia has very strong 4,3 positions players - Kirilenko, Khryapa, Fridzon, Monia and Lithuania is lacking Kleiza and Mačiulis. That makes Russia one of most uncomfortable teams for Lithuania in this Eurobasket.

Well we're actually through to the top 8 since Finland beat Georgia before our match with Russia. Depending on the victories tomorrow we might even sandbag our performance against Georgia if we choose who we want to match up against in the QF's <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tongue' />

He put Kaimak on Kirilenko in the start of the game and it worked well... actually it all worked well until he put Vasileiadis in... which lacks height, strength and defense... just not build for games vs opponents like Russia.

Russia is a nightmare matchup for Lithuania.
Respect and thanks for everything:

Alvertis, Bodiroga, Jasikevicius, Radja, Wilkins, Vrankovic, Fotsis, Rebraca, Kattash, Gentile, Koch, Middleton, Kutluay, Rogers, Papadopoulos, Becirovic, Tomasevic, Siskauskas, Pekovic, Lakovic, Vujanic, Chatzivrettas, Maljkovic, Spanoulis and many more to follow in the near future.

Vasileidis is a 3 point specialist, so basically the team needs him. And I think he's a good player, a player that can make the difference in pressure situations, even though he lacks some experience.

Your description of Vasileiadis isn't quite right. We lost this game because our defence was pathetic, coupled with poor offence and missed shots that added to the dilemma. Overall a crappy performance and nothng more. Kaimakoglou didn't play that well in my eyes, then again the whole team sucked. This is supposed to be a team effort, and that's our philosophy.

We were more like Swiss cheese than actually playing defense, I counted three dunks in a row from offensive moves by the Russians that were just uncontested and unguarded (it wasn't like they were so fast that we couldn't catch them either), wtf? <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Blink' />

I hope we learn from this defeat.

Look dude. I said in a previous post that FYROM tanked out, and were going to fall at the hands of Slovenia. They didn't, I was wrong. But I still think it's time for them to lose. McCalebb can't go on forever at high tempo and score. If they beat Russia I'll run naked downtown wearing a cowboy hat. They won't!! So 'YOUR' team will be playing the Republic of the Northern FYROM in the QF's.. Relax... <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' />
