Even if France played without Parker, Noah and Batum for some minutes only I think that are not even close to Spain's quality.

Unfortunately, I don't see any team stopping Spain from the repeat. <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thudown.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Sad' />

On paper, they've won the gold, but theoratically they could dig their own grave due to their arrogant attitude. You just don't know. The good news is that France showed no interest in even trying to take it to Spain. Poor attitude. Colliet's comments were full of dog dung. He rested Noah and Parker. Well big deal. Mediocre NBA'ers. Maybe they want revenge for the 2005 game. Personally I don't give a rats ass.

I know this much though. If we stick to our game plan we'll defeat this team be it difficult or not. I have NO fear of the French. We have a good draw in the knock-out stages, and we should take full advantage of it. <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tease.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tease' />

It's so funny(in a bad way) that their excuse on Tony Parker's absence was that they wanted to give him some rest!! <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rofl3.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Rofl3' />

Today I realised how good Lithuania would be with healthy Kleiza in this tournament. If we lacking something, it's exactly a player who can brake the doors when the team struggling. With the extra things that current Kleiza can bring on the court, Lithuania would have very good chances even against Spain. Spain is very good, but IMO Serbia and Lithuania in a good day can beat them? Russia and France as well. These 4 teams are the main contenders in my account.

I already started to dream about Olympics. More matured Valančiūnas at the center, Kleiza as power forward, Mačiulis as SF <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bag.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Bag' /> Sweet dreams <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Rolleyes' />

BTW, I'm starting to think Å aras will be in Olympics 2012 and will deliver. Yes, I resist the idea that Lithuania won't be there. No fucking way <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tongue' />

This is a good opportunity for us with a weakened team to even surpass the QF's. We've had a favorable draw, and nothing is impossible when you want it. I think we might see some surprises in the QF's, and let's hope the Le Bleur is one of them..People have written us off as nobodies, that suits me just fine!! <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bollocks.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Bollocks' />

France is going nowhere my friend. Hellas doesn't fear this team. We're going for the win. We have nothing to lose. They do!! Parker or no Parker it makes no diffrence to me. So let's bring it on!! You should be ecstatic since you're going to blow away the FYROM by 20+.. <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Biggrin' />

First of all France wouldn't stand a chance against Spain even with Parker, Noah, Gelabale, Turiaf and Pietrus in the roster.

And secondly, France didn't choose Greece, they choose not to play with Lithuania(or Spain) in the semis. They didn't even think of us. <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bag.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Bag' />

I hope we will upset them. Their arrogance is close to Spaniards' level... <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thudown.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

[/quote]

Well if they played properly I don't think they would have lost with that much of a difference, I think it would have at least been a difference below 10 points. Anyway you want to see it, France lost on purpose to get the most favourable matchups possible. We don't care whether they think of us as a threat or not, all the better for us for them to underestimate us, we've punished opponents many a time for thinking that way. I feel it will be a close match for sure <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

Hallo, my friends <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' /> Yesterday was a sad day for EuroBasket, I think...with the France disrespect to all the fans. They didn't want Lithuania in the semies... I hope Greece and all the fans in the arena will give them a real hell on Thursday. Good luck to Greece!

France does not underestimate Greece, not at all. They want their revenge from 2005 and trust me they will play at 100%.

by the way you have a short memory, do you remember the eurobasket 2009? Greece tanked its game against France in fear of meeting Spain in the quarterfinals whereas France played fair and square. as a result they lost against spain and finished 5th while they had the skills to earn a medal.

Furthermore, i don't think you have anything to say about the attitude of a team in this tournament. After all Greece staff tried to buy the referees.

Greece has definitely done its fair share of sandbagging games on purpose to avoid specific opponents. It wasn't wrong what France did, but they could have lost to Spain with a smaller margin instead of +30 difference...

Btw. welcome to the board ccc, enjoy your stay with us!

1)Welcome to <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tb.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tb' />. I hope you came to stay and not just post 5-10 times and stop!!

2)Greece didn't try to buy referees. Actually, there was just an unrelated with the Greek NT, asshole who did that. Don't blame someone if you don't know the whole story! <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' />

3)If Greece didn't want to win in 2009, Spanoulis wouldn't tie the game with a 3 pointer... <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/huh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Huh' />

4)Really, did you know that after De Colo's final and winning shot, his temmates were extremely angry to him?!?!?

5)By the way, if France indeed played fair and square against Greece in 2009, then why you used Parker for less than 20 minutes???

Oh, I know, maybe he was tired. <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/taunt.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Taunt' />

To be honest i don't remember exactly this game in 2009 so my bad i might have talked too fast. However that doesn't change the fact that yesterdays game was somehow meaningless for both teams. even though i understand the criticism against France i find it a bit too harsh.

Why play Tony Parker and Joachim Noah and risk an injury to them when you're sure to finish at least second?

Besides, contrary to what we may think, i believe finishing first was as tough as finishing second. there was nothing to calculate here, playing Greece in the quarterfinals is as difficult as playing lithuania in the semis in my opinion

And thanks for your comments, i'll try to post here regularly!!
