2nd Group Stage - Day 3
Finally, Serbs got the sweetest revenge they could! <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

It seems like Turkey can indeed play well only at home...

*When was the last time that Turkey played in the Olympics?!
Yes we're going back home and Serbia avenged us. But I have an objection with one sentence you wrote "It seems like Turkey can indeed play well only at home"

Dude , we were terrible behind the arc and foul line throughtout the tournament. Still we were about the win all the games about 45 seconds to go , which means we played and tried the snatch it until the end. Excuses doesn't work I know and acceptance is the first step to do better. Still do you reaaly think we are not a challenging team ? Or did we loose any game easy ? The truth is our team could have won all of our matches but we couldn't , technically (although our offensive sets were not good enough) it was because of our horrible shooting but the main reason is we were a good team but not a winner I guess.

By the way , to Serbs writing here, Guy you won, congrats. but please do not claim that the ref was at our side, please, this was a clean game and ref didn't affected the game's score. I hope you do well but pick and rolls of teodosic-savanovic-kristic trio won't be enough, today we could defend it to an extent , but couldn't punish it, russia can...

Turks got fail or better to say that referees don't doing job well <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' />

In third quarter Turks has almost no foul <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/crazy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Crazy' />

Now we can say Turks theory "If you want medal,be host and pay referees" <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rofl3.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Rofl3' />

I hope that Serbia if nothing else take 6th place and bring in Belgrade qualification for OG.Because we have very bad players <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thudown.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

This was a beautiful game , I enjoyed watching it. Truth is yes last year ref was with us aginst you but today's match was nothing to do with the refs, in fact you already say hat you think, your team is not good enough, last year big teams didn't bring their greatest players (Parker, Kirilenko,, Nowitzki, Pau Gasol even Saras) this year they brought and we both lost to them , this i the bitter truth for both of us bro. Take care.

Even if France played without Parker, Noah and Batum for some minutes only I think that are not even close to Spain's quality.

Unfortunately, I don't see any team stopping Spain from the repeat. <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thudown.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Sad' />

If Tepic make some triples <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rofl3.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Rofl3' /> And Perovic play like Mike Batiste <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rofl3.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Rofl3' />

I do not understand the tiebreaker. How did Serbia already qualify and why does Germany need to beat Lithuania by 11 points? I thought the tiebreaker was point differential but Serbia's point differential is pretty terrible and Germany could beat Lithuania by anything short of a blowout and both Germany and Lithuania would have better point differentials than Serbia. What is the tiebreaker method that is being used?

I can see the first one happening because you never know what is Tepic going to do! <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rofl3.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Rofl3' /> <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rofl3.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Rofl3' /> He can be the best on the court but also the worst(unfortunately that's happening very often. <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Sad' /> ) He's a very beloved player to many PAO fans(I'm on of them) and we feel bad that he's leaving PAO(he's going to sign with Cajasol <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Sad' /> ).

We know that he's extremely talented but he has some psychological problems, there is no other explanation...

On the other hand... I don't see that coming(Perovic play like Batiste)!!! <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' />

Perovic played excellent today. In 6 minutes, he scored 6 points and 5 rebounds. Who knows, maybe he will show his best <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Biggrin' />

By the way, he have to play like Pekovic and not like Batiste.

Pekovic is more on his style! <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' />

Alright I have done some research. I guess it is only head to head to head point differential for some crazy reason. Lithuania is +10 Serbia is +1 and Germany is -11.

Scenario 1: Germany beats Lithuania by 8 points or less = lithuania 3rd serbia 4th

Scenario 2: Germany beats Lithuania by 9 points = lithuania and serbia tie on differential, I have no clue who gets 3rd and who gets 4th

Scenario 3 Germany beats Lithuania by 10 points = serbia 3rd lithuania 4th

Scenario 4 Germany beats Lithuania by 11 points = serbia 3rd germany 4th

Scenario 5 Germany beats Lithuania by 12 points = germany and serbia tie on differential, I have no clue who gets 3rd and who gets 4th

Scenario 6 Germany beats Lithuania by 13 points or more = germany 3rd serbia 4th

Scenario 7 Lithuania beats Germany by any amont = lithuania 3rd serbia 4th

I was walking through the airport with my laptop open and the Lithuania/Germany stream going in full blast. I could not miss out!

So Lithuania places third in the group, which means I will get to see them take on the Russia/FYROM loser on the 14th. My 50/50 gamble for buying tickets on the 14th instead of the 15th paid off. I cannot wait for the games!

Tonight we had a little taste of what "I'm the host nation" means and the best is yet to come. <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thudown.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I think that Germany deserved to win. <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Although, Nowitzki was bad...

Kaman was great but his missed two important free throws with the score 80-75.

Germany had 4 players in double figures and one more with just 3 points! <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Blink' />

1.Spain <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

2.France <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

3.Lithuania <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

4.Serbia <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

5.Germany ...too bad Nowitzki will never play in Olympics again, he deserved it! <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

6.Turkey <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ohmy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Ohmy' />

Don't be fooled by the result of France vs. Spain. France 'sandbagged' (as Raze would say) their performance and lost on purpose to Spain so that they would play against Greece. Plain and simple, this game was a farce.

And my friend vakasimo, Turkey did beat Spain, but then again Spain sandbagged their performance too keeping out Gasol. That's why I say that Spain won't be what we've known it to be once Pau is gone (and no, Marc can no why fill his brother's shoes even if he's improved a great deal).

Of course Germany lost, they made a valiant effort, but to beat the host nation on their home turf and at +11 points? Please.

First of all France wouldn't stand a chance against Spain even with Parker, Noah, Gelabale, Turiaf and Pietrus in the roster.

And secondly, France didn't choose Greece, they choose not to play with Lithuania(or Spain) in the semis. They didn't even think of us. <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bag.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Bag' />

I hope we will upset them. Their arrogance is close to Spaniards' level... <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thudown.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
