Barcelona bids farewell to Juan Carlos Navarro

During a special ceremony organised by Barcelona, the legendary Juan Carlos Navarro officially put an end to his great career.

The 38-year-old guard was willing to keep playing, however he understood that this was the right time to retire.

“At first it bothers you when you are invited to leave something that you have done for so many years. Things could have been done differently, but you have to take it in. Someday I had to come. Now it’s time to help in another way and I’m motivated,” Navarro said in front of his longtime friends, Pau and Marc Gasol, his team-mates and many Spanish stars.

The Catalans also announced that the player’s jersey will be retired during the first “Clasico”of the season.
