Hey Raze, do you know if those friendly games you wrote about are available for download anywhere?

I can't find em <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mellow.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Mellow' /><img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Rolleyes' />

I only found Greece's baskets vs Lithuania...

Zouros cut Ian Vougioukas for the 2nd straight season. <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Blink' /> <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Blink' /> <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Blink' /> <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Blink' />

WTF???

Last year it was deserving as Vougioukas played shitty in the friendlies(on purpose if you ask me) but this year... why???

He's going to keep the "rookie" Kavvadas(I like him but he's a rookie)??

That was a schoker. <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ohmy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Ohmy' />

By the way, Sarikopoulos was cut too. No surprise there.

Thanks man, I'll have a watch of that! <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Biggrin' />

Also I think Vouyoukas was rightly cut from the squad, he's just too slow, where we have quite a fast team now. I think Sarikopoulos will have chances in the future, he's still a newbie. I have a feeling Zouros will be running the NT now with a new philosophy, with a lot more up-beat energy, which is going to be refreshing, because our NT was always traditionally slow-ass, so it will be nice for things to be mixed up a bit <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I know we want to run and that Ian is slow but man, he's easily better than both Mauroeidis and Kavvadas.

We just have a starting center now. No depth at all in 5.

Anyway, let's trust Zouros!

I actually managed to watch our game vs. Lithuania. If people want it, I'll try and upload it to a filehoster for those wanting to see it, although commentary is in Lithuanian.

The way I see it, we are gonna be using more 'fluid' centers, i.e. forwards like Fotsis, Bouroussis and Mavroidis. You're right, we don't have a thoroughbred center in the squad right now, but perhaps that might be something refreshing for the NT, it certainly seems to have worked well so far in the friendlies. I have to say I was surprised at the mass of Kavadas, he's kinda a bit like a white Sofo <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' /> Quite unrefined yet, but may be a much more workable and easily developed big man for the future, I don't really see Vouyoukas being able to reach a higher level than where he is right now.

Apart from the issues of the centers, I'm quite excited about the build up of our team, we have a richly talented squad plus a deep bench, I think it's fair to say that Hellas should be aiming for a medal at these forthcoming Olympics <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Cool' />

The game has really changed since I was a kid. It would have been unthinkable to play without a legitimate center in the 90s now it's the norm. Spain is really the only team with an intimidating front court and yet they are a team that loves to run the court.

Can you imagine if the Dream Team wouldn't have taken Ewing and Robinson and instead gone all in with Malone and Barkley? There would have been a riot.

This.

I'm excited too because of our young and promising team! <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Indeed, we'll probably play with smaler lineups using, maybe, Fotsis at center but most of the minutes will be covered by Bourousis.

Mavroeidis will get some minutes but I don't know if he's going to be used in the big/close games.

I'm hyped!!! <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yahoo.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Yahoo' />

Well I'm happy that we're trying out new things, and not sticking to the old-duffer traditionalism of the past. I will be interested to see how Sarikopoulos and Kavadas fare in the future.

Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure that Sarikopoulos doesn't have bright future ahead of him.

He may got talent but I don't think he'll be playing for the NT in the future. <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bag.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Bag' />

On the other hand, I believe in Kavvadas!

I think he's going to be a great center for us! <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

The guy I really want to see is Chrysikopoulos!!!

This boy may turn out to be huge for us! <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ok.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Ok' />

Well we beat Nigeria a bit earlier, but it was quite a bad performance overall, the 2nd and 3rd quarter was abysmal, with V-Span saving the day bombing the Nigerians from outside the arc. Our defense was ailing quite a bit, plus Kaimakoglou now has a strain injury in the calf muscle? I know that the change of time zone can be quite taxing on the body, and maybe the guys aren't well adjusted yet to the times. Still, we need to get our shit together, especially for Brazil, this is going to be one solid game.

I'm pretty pissed that I can't find the friendlies to watch over the net, I've tried using some Greek proxies to try logging in to watch NET, as soon as sports begin on it, all non-Greek IP's are blocked <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mellow.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Mellow' />

Can anyone recommend a good, reliable proxy (with appropriate port as well) that I can use?

Thanks <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

Why were Knicks fans booing when they drafted Papanikolaou in the middle of the second round? Kid is a stud, this was one of the better second round picks.

I thought that it would be a steal too but I then thought that, hey, I'm Greek but I'm happy you agree!

He's extremely talented and he's an all-around player!

Nope.

He was injured.

Sofo is injured too but I hope, if we qualify to the OG, Zouros(coach) will call him to replace someone.

If we qualify to the Olympics, I think Kavadas will get a chance, not Koufos/Sofo since they didn't practice with the team at all. I'm really curious as to Kavadas presence under the basket, I've never seen him play, but when he looks like a white Sofo, well... <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/crazy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Crazy' /><img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rofl3.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Rofl3' /><img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

They didn't practise from the start because of injuries -I think- so, I don't see why he shouldn't call one of them.

I'd really like us to call Sofo.

Kavvadas won't be able to help us in the big games.

From what I've understood through the years of training of the national team, you're either there right from the start when practice kicks off, or you lose your specific chance for that organization. True, Kavadas doesn't have experience, but I don't see Mavroidis doing much good for us either, might as well have the young lad aboard instead. Nobody thought Sofo was going to perform like he did back in 2006, so why shouldn't Kavadas at least have this chance to make himself known?

I was really looking forward to seeing HELLAS in the Olympics! Now with Greece, Serbia and Turkey out the Tourney is weak. <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Sad' />

Huh? Didn't Greece qualify for Beijing through the Olympic Qualifying tournament? I could have sworn that they did and the tournament was in Athens if I remember correctly.
