Pablo Laso receives Liga Endesa Coach of the Year award

Before Real Madrid’s clash with UCAM Murcia, coach Pablo Laso was awarded with last season’s Liga Endesa Coach of the Year honour.

Last season, Laso led Real Madrid to the top of the Liga Endesa and they ended up winning the championship by defeating Barcelona in the finals.

Liga Endesa round up 2016-17 (week 8)

Valencia bested Baskonia 99-91 in week eight of the Liga Endesa as the Basque’s win on Friday over Fenerbahce clearly took its toll as Baskonia looked fatigued, especially on the defensive end.

Antoine Diot led Valencia with 28 points as they improve to 5-2 but they drop Baskonia to 5-3.

Petteri Koponen scored 23 points for Barcelona as they overcame a tricky UCAM Murcia side 89-83 on the road.

The Catalan side go joint top of the Liga Endesa standings after eight rounds of play with rivals Real Madrid who thrashed previous table toppers Tenerife 86-59 in the Spanish capital. Teenager Luka Doncic had a tremendous game with 12 points, five assists and five rebounds for Real.
