2006-07 season

Quarter-Finals start today. Those who don't know what TV channels will be broadcasting which games click here.
#22
CSKA Moscow 80:58 Maccabi. Defending champs CSKA took control from the start and didn't let it go. The score after 1st quarter was 21:6 and it only increased during the game. Maccabi couldn't find ways to score. They looked stall in offense. Spahija couldn't turn things round. Jasaitis couldn't handle the pressure and missed all his 3-pointers. It's really hard to see any chances for Maccabi to go through.

Teams top scorers:

CSKA: Trajan Langdon 16 (1/1 2pt, 4/7 3pt, 2/2 ft), David Andersen 14 (3/5 2pt, 2/6 3pt, 2/2 ft), John Holden 12 (3/7 2pt, 2/4 3pt), Tomas Van Den Spiegel 11 (5/5 2pt, 1/5 ft).

Maccabi: Nikola Vujcic 10 (2/6 2pt, 1/2 3pt, 3/4 ft), Will Bynum 9 (3/8 2pt, 0/1 3pt, 3/4 ft), Jamie Arnold 7 (2/4 2pt, 1/1 3pt).

Nice I thought that there must be some online broadcasts. This time I won't have to use this since I can watch it on TV.

Good to see Macijauskas playing but he hasn't showed anything yet.

Panathinaikos 80-58

Papadopoulos' and Fotsis 2 fouls in first 6 minutes and then Popovic 3 fouls made Panathinaikos life easier who at some point lead by 30 points.

Easy win, as predicted.

Best players of Pana were Siskauskas and Becirovic.
Respect and thanks for everything:

Alvertis, Bodiroga, Jasikevicius, Radja, Wilkins, Vrankovic, Fotsis, Rebraca, Kattash, Gentile, Koch, Middleton, Kutluay, Rogers, Papadopoulos, Becirovic, Tomasevic, Siskauskas, Pekovic, Lakovic, Vujanic, Chatzivrettas, Maljkovic, Spanoulis and many more to follow in the near future.

So we probably know four finalists already. It reminds me WC 2006 when Spain, USA, Greece and Argentina were obvious winners of their quarter-finals. Final Four should be exciting.

Panathinaikos 80:58 Dynamo Moscow

PAO: Sani Becirovic 17 (5/6 2pt, 1/1 3pt, 4/4 ft), Ram?nas ?i?kauskas 16 (2/6 2pt, 3/3 3pt, 3/6 ft), Mike Batiste 10 (5/7 2pt)

Dynamo: Obinna Ekezie 15 (5/7 2pt, 5/8 ft), Taquan Dean 14 (5/9 2pt, 1/5 3pt, 1/1 ft), Lazaros Papadopoulos 7 (2/3 2pt, 3/3 ft)

TAU Ceramica 84:59 Olympiacos

TAU: Igor Rakocevic 24 (1/4 2pt, 5/6 3pt, 7/7 ft), Serkan Erdogan 13 (5/7 2pt, 0/5 3pt, 3/5 ft), Mirza Teletovic 10 (3/5 2pt, 1/1 3pt, 1/2 ft)

OLY: Henry Domercant 13 (5/8 2pt, 1/3 3pt), Samuel Hoskin 11 (2/7 2pt, 0/1 3pt, 7/7 ft), Andrija Zizic 8 (3/8 2pt, 2/3 ft)

Unicaja 91:75 Barcelona

Unicaja: Marcus Faison 17 (1/2 2pt, 5/9 3pt), Ignacio de Miguel 13 (3/6 2pt, 1/2 3pt, 4/4 ft), Berni Rodriguez 12 (3/3 2pt, 1/2 3pt, 3/3 ft)

Barca: Juan Carlos Navarro 15 (4/7 2pt, 1/4 3pt, 4/8 ft), Gianluca Basile 11 (1/2 2pt, 3/6 3pt), Denis Marconato 11 (5/6 2pt, 0/1 3pt, 1/1 ft)

I hope that the games tomorrow will be more close, this game 1 didn't have much interest, the disparity was too big.

Tomorrow Olympiacos vs TAU and Dynamo vs PAO online broadcast might be available here and Barca vs Unicaja here.

Definately. Game 1 was one-sided in all matches. Teams that lost will be under the pressure because if they lose then they are out and hopefully that will add something positive to their performance.

Thanks for the links rikhardur. I will be watching Oly match on TV but it can be useful for other members who can't see it on TV.

Panathinaikos and TAU qualified in a fashionate and stylish way to Final Four where they will face each other for the Final ticket.

Great teams, great coaches, great squads, great history, should be a top match and a very close one.
Respect and thanks for everything:

Alvertis, Bodiroga, Jasikevicius, Radja, Wilkins, Vrankovic, Fotsis, Rebraca, Kattash, Gentile, Koch, Middleton, Kutluay, Rogers, Papadopoulos, Becirovic, Tomasevic, Siskauskas, Pekovic, Lakovic, Vujanic, Chatzivrettas, Maljkovic, Spanoulis and many more to follow in the near future.

In my opinion TAU and CSKA will reach the final. It's true that PAO will be playing at home and we all know the influence that has, but still I think TAU will win it. As for CSKA, unless another surprise takes place, they're already in the final, but still with Unicaja you never know.

I'm so happy that Unicaja will get knocked out by CSKA, they are Pana's worst nightmare since last season and with Santiago out and all im optimistic. Besides Pana has 3-0 over CSKA in last matches.

But before that another nightmare awaits, TAU brrrrrrrrrrr

Didn't want to start a separate topic for this so I'll post it here.

Quote:The Zalgiris Kaunas cheerleaders will dance during games at the 2007 Euroleague Final Four at Athens Olympic Indoor Hall (OAKA). The well-known dance troupe will compete for the Baltic League cheerleading title at the Baltic League Final Four later this month. The Zalgiris cheerleaders have thrilled the crowds at their team's home games all season long and have long been considered one of the best in the Euroleague. This will be their first performance at a Euroleague Final Four.

CSKA 62-50 Malaga

That was a disgraceful match. Two mediocre teams shooting 3pointers like maniacs, CSKA players boxing, tackling, hitting opponents players both in defence and offence, referees pissing off Malaga players and a team (Malaga) that didn't even deserve being in the Final Four.
Respect and thanks for everything:

Alvertis, Bodiroga, Jasikevicius, Radja, Wilkins, Vrankovic, Fotsis, Rebraca, Kattash, Gentile, Koch, Middleton, Kutluay, Rogers, Papadopoulos, Becirovic, Tomasevic, Siskauskas, Pekovic, Lakovic, Vujanic, Chatzivrettas, Maljkovic, Spanoulis and many more to follow in the near future.

That's the type of basketball I don't like. Malaga could have challenged for the win but they missed so many shots. While CSKA seem to control their play very well. They relaxed a bit and Malaga equalised the score but then they sart playing their usual basketball and they have 10 points lead again.

The second semi will be different in my opinion.
