Riots between rival fans
#1
Riots between rival fans (Panathinaikos-Olympiakos) took place yesterday in Peania (Athens suburbs).

As a result we had 1 dead (Panathinaikos fan), tens of injured (stubbed, hit on the head, run over by cars)

4 second division football club Marko players stubbed, beaten and robbed by Olympiakos fans cause they wore green shirts and were going to training.

3 stores smashed, several cars burnt.

As that was not enough the riots continued in the hospital in which the injured fans were taken between the fans 'friends' who arrived later there.

Late on evening new riots again between Panathinaikos-Olympiakos took place in Chaidari (Athens), again we had many injuried by stubbings, beating etc

As one eye-witness said he saw one Olympiakos fan shouting to another 'what are you looking at? Kill him, Finish him, he is a 'vazelos' (Panathinaikos fan)'

And all that for a meaningless WOMEN VOLLEYBALL match between Panathinaikos and Olympiakos.

So far more than 30 people have been arrested, but the murderer is still out there.

Thus all sports events have been cancelled for the next 2 weeks in Greece.

Of course Greek Police is crap and they did nothing to stop it, although they were on spot as they had been notified 45 minutes earlier.

They can only beat up students, strikers and generally any other weak group.

And lastly, why do i already see an easy 2-0 sweep by TAU over Olympiakos?
Respect and thanks for everything:

The Olympiakos fans started their 'death comvoy' at their Football Stadium in Piraeus with more than 100 motorbikes and over 200 people, they rode the 30 kilometres distance to Peania with Police escort riding across Athens.

Out of the arrested:

2 are employees of Olympiakos Football Club

1 is the son of a Police Officer

1 is a nephew of a Greek Parliament Member

1 is a public officer

That's just stupid. How can there be such a hate between the fans of two teams. I know it's a great rivalry but it shouldn't go that far. Do club representatives ask fans to stop that 'war'? There should be something done to stop this.
