2007/08 European Signings and Rumours
#61
Joao Paolo Batista of Lietuvos Rytas could be on his way to Prokom Trefl soon.

Žalgiris are reportedly interested in Lance Allred who is playing in NBDL representing Idaho Stampede.
Joao Paolo Batista of Lietuvos Rytas could be on his way to Prokom Trefl soon.
Does that mean more playing time for Anisimovas? I doubt that because every chance he had in Euroleague - he failed. Maybe if plays more he would feel more confident. If Batista goes away it's possible that we will see new PF/C in Rytas before Top 16.

Panathinaikos interested in Prkacin.
Respect and thanks for everything:

Alvertis, Bodiroga, Jasikevicius, Radja, Wilkins, Vrankovic, Fotsis, Rebraca, Kattash, Gentile, Koch, Middleton, Kutluay, Rogers, Papadopoulos, Becirovic, Tomasevic, Siskauskas, Pekovic, Lakovic, Vujanic, Chatzivrettas, Maljkovic, Spanoulis and many more to follow in the near future.

Was he without a team this season?
#65
Donatas Slanina could join Montepaschi as a replacement for injured Rimantas Kauk?nas who will miss the rest of the season. It would be a chance for Slanina to take his career up.

Another Prokom Trefl leader Milan Gurovic is also expected to leave the club. There rumours saying that there is an EL team interested in him.

No. He plays for Dynamo Moscow. And it looks like the transfer will not go through after all... Dynamo are asking for more money.
Respect and thanks for everything:

Damir Markota is a potential candidate to join Žalgiris. He plays for Spartak St. Petersburg. There are rumours that he will be temporarly loaned to Euroleague team and will reutn to the his club after the season ends.
#68
The above rumour is pointless now <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' /> Lrytas.lt announced that Wayne Simien is the new Žalgiris signing. In 2005 NBA Draft he was 29th pick by Heat. He looks like a not bad signing:

Now infosport.lt says that Markota could be signed by Lietuvos Rytas.

Panathinaikos signed Nikola Prkacin after all.
Respect and thanks for everything:

Alvertis, Bodiroga, Jasikevicius, Radja, Wilkins, Vrankovic, Fotsis, Rebraca, Kattash, Gentile, Koch, Middleton, Kutluay, Rogers, Papadopoulos, Becirovic, Tomasevic, Siskauskas, Pekovic, Lakovic, Vujanic, Chatzivrettas, Maljkovic, Spanoulis and many more to follow in the near future.

Till the end of the season?
Panathinaikos signed Nikola Prkacin after all.
So, how long Tomasevic is out ?

i like Prkacin but he is old enough. He is really slow, poor rebounder also he can't play pick'n'roll. For me Prkacin is bad choose
#72
I don't know much about his Moscow performance but Nikola should be much more better than he was in Efes if Pao expects something from him.
#73
Latest rumours say that both Lietuvos Rytas and Žalgiris are interested in Damir Markota. Greek websites write that Tadas Klimavi?ius who plays for AEL Olimpia will join Žalgiris. However, Žalgiris vice-president Gediminas Navikauskas said that the club is looking for a foreigner. The only advantage that I see in signing Klimavi?ius is tha the is Lithuanian and would probably be cheaper but I can't see him beeing a serious help for the club.
#74
@ Vilius: Yes, Prkacin signed till end of season and then we'll see... He said that if he wants to stay for more he will have to prove himself.

@ pata: Tomasevic will be out for at least 2 months. He had a hernia operation.

@ MarkoMilic: Few players are really important part of Panathinaikos (like Diamantides and/or Batiste). Rest of the players are usually squad rotation players. Let's not fool ourselves. Prkacin is over his years, he was brought to replace Tomasevic and also because of his nice basketball IQ, the extra pass he can easily make from the low post to a winger at the 3point line and most importantly he was brough in to use his weight and height against the tall and heavy Centers of Olympiakos.

PS: I liked both Prkacin and Peker back in the days for Efes...
Respect and thanks for everything:

Markota was loaned to Zalgiris after all for 6 months. He said that Kaunas bars better stock up some liquor quickly as he will be hitting them soon with Popovic <!-- s:cool: --><!-- s:cool: -->

Spartak St Petersburg signed Luis Sims of Panellinios as his replacement.

Klimavicius transfer didn't go through because of Larisa's coach veto as he doesn't feel that the team have secured their position in the A1 just yet...

But there could be an agreement between Klimavicius and Zalgiris already for next season...
Respect and thanks for everything:

Alvertis, Bodiroga, Jasikevicius, Radja, Wilkins, Vrankovic, Fotsis, Rebraca, Kattash, Gentile, Koch, Middleton, Kutluay, Rogers, Papadopoulos, Becirovic, Tomasevic, Siskauskas, Pekovic, Lakovic, Vujanic, Chatzivrettas, Maljkovic, Spanoulis and many more to follow in the near future.

Cheers for the info Arkadios.

Lietuvos Rytas is close to signing Jackson Vroman from Akasvayu. They were interested in him in summer but he chose Spain. I think that this signing confirms Trifunovic's words that Rytas intend to go far this season.

Pini Gershon is probable history for Olympiakos since tonight.

Greek NT coach Panayiotis Yiannakis is expected to take over and attend tomorrow's training session.

According to the rumors he signed a 3 1/2 years contract.
Respect and thanks for everything:

That makes Olympiakos more dangerous in Top 16. This change was really needed. Now Gershon can concentrate on Bulgaria <!-- sSmile --><!-- sSmile -->

The source is not totally reliable but here it is told that Barcelona agreed with Gary Neal (1.95-1984-SG) from P?nar Kar??yaka:

<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.sabah.com.tr/haber,73877FB759BB40F59EC4B1E910F002F6.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.sabah.com.tr/haber,73877FB75 ... 002F6.html</a><!-- m -->

He had an excellent season in TBL with the stats: 23.58 pts (47.1% 2pts, 43.8% 3pts, 84.3% Ft), 5.2 rebs, 3.5 assist. He is a great scorer, good transfer for Barca if it is true...

Edit: This source is more reliable:
