Žalgiris got a tough group. If they don't improve their game from last season it will be very hard to qualify to Top 16. They need some quality signings in order to fight for a place in the next stage. The club decided to keep Rimantas Grigas as the head coach, they lost Loren Woods. This will not make the team better in my opinion. CSKA, TAU Ceramica, Olympiacos and Siena should take the top 4 places in the group A. I want to believe that money can't buy you success so I'd like to put Prokom Trefl in the group that would fight for the 5th place. I would like to see some surprises in this group and an underdog breaking among favourites but it is unlikely.

Group B is much more open. Unicaja, Maccabi and Efes Pilsen should be considered as favourites to take top 3 places but I think that Aris, Lietuvos Rytas and Armani Jeans, Cibona can all fight for a high place. It would be nice if Rytas would repeat their record wit Maccabi again (they won both home and away games in 2005/06 season).

In group C Bamberg and Roanne can be considered as outsiders. I really don't see any real chances to finish at top 6 in the group. Panathinaikos, Real Madrid, Barca and maybe Lottomatica are the main favourites in group C. It should be an interesting fight among them for the 1st place.

Hmm. Žalgiris have definitely got it tough. Of course, they will have to improve DRASTICALLY from last season. That goes without saying.

Rytas have an easier group. It is hard to judge yet, but it will be an interesting season.

Andrius posting! Where have you been <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tongue' />

Mindaugas Timinskas will not come to Žalgiris since he renewed contract with Pamesa. This just makes it more difficult for the team. I don't want to write them down yet. The board should be working very hard to form a team that could qualify to Top 16.

Group A is very diffciult and i don't think that anyone can brake the top4 teams CSKA, TAU, Oly, Siena.

Siena has got a hell of a home ground and noone will have an easy day there. Same goes for TAU.

Prokom seems to be doing very good in the transfer marker, so we shall wait and see them.

Group B is ridiculously easy, that is good for Efes of course. But i don't think that Maccabi will lose the first position.

Group C is a very nice group with many derbies if you ask me. 6 games between Panathinaikos, Barcelona and Real Madrid should be very interesting to watch.

I hope Panathinaikos get Efes in the next round since they didn't get them in the Groups, i kinda missed them <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Rolleyes' />
