I should have added that they would secure 1st place if they have the same wins and losses balance as Maccabi or Unicaja.

yes you are right, i mean only it is really difficult. Also i believe that Rytas will win tonight.

CSKA Moscow 70-62 Tau Ceramica

Efes Pilsen 74-84 Aris TT Bank

Lietuvos Rytas 71-63 Unicaja

Montepaschi 87-64 Prokom Trefl

Le Mans 100-87 Cibona

AXA FCB 75-77 Lottomatica

Alexandar Trifunovic press conference (Rytas head coach):

Sergio Scariolo press conference (Unicaja head coach):

[y]-8G8SkCWVno[/y]

It was a close game. Rytas tried to run at the beginning of the game and got 10 point lead. Unicaja managed to close the gap in the 2nd quarter. Scariolo got a technical for arguing with the referees which was probably a breaking point in the game and let Rytas win in the end. Well done <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> The 1st place is almost there.

Rytas lost Matthew Nielsen for 4-6 weeks after he injured Achilles tendon last night. Bad news for Rytas when Top 16 starts so soon.

What a game and what a win for Lietuvos Rytas. Trifunovic said that the team have very high aims this year and matches like this make me believe in that. Shall we see Lithuanian team in Final Four? The chances are slim, but I hope that this would come true. But let's not dream about what will happen in a few months.

Great win by Aris. They have added considerable depth to their squad by signing Boisa and Washington.
Respect and thanks for everything:

Alvertis, Bodiroga, Jasikevicius, Radja, Wilkins, Vrankovic, Fotsis, Rebraca, Kattash, Gentile, Koch, Middleton, Kutluay, Rogers, Papadopoulos, Becirovic, Tomasevic, Siskauskas, Pekovic, Lakovic, Vujanic, Chatzivrettas, Maljkovic, Spanoulis and many more to follow in the near future.

boisa and especially washington are seeming good players but i should add that yesterday efes played one of its worst plays againts aris. we couldnt see hutson, loren woods was so soft and fragile that mottola and massay dominated the painted area. efes was quite unsuccessfull behind the arc ( 27 %). on defence the best thing efes could achieve is zone defence through this year but an extra and unexpected addition by a new one, iliadis, was enough to break the resistance and knuckling under. aris cannot find such team like efes in top 16. on the other hand unless serkan erdo?an will return back as soon as possible and efes changing his idedtity as a "high school team", final four will continue being a dream as always.

lietuvos rytas had superb job yesterday. i tried to watch also that game, and understood that lithuvania is a school for basketball. with unknown players like, bajramovic, petravicius, eidson, price, jomantas..etc they guaranteed the first seed by improving the quality of that players. i have suspicious againts victories to cska or pao but they always have potantial to beat real or barça, and with a good draw, the road is open to final four this year. petravicius is one of the two players with nikola pekovic who doubled his value. i hope thing go well with rytas and we can see a lithuvanian team in final four years after.

today, jasikevicius and his friends kidded fenerbahçe ülker without sweating. they are the allstar team of this league, if they considering important the opponent. if you do a little bit mistake, like missing double foul shouts or missing a dunk, pao is always ready to answer with its squad and crowd. you miss even empty shots at that hall cuz of athmosphere. and the other team, if we should say something about fenerbahçe, we can easily say thay without solomon fenerbahçe is nearly nothing unfortunately. with a pressure over the guards - solomon, mrsic- the team doesnt know what it should do. they have a difficult period in the next round.

I was more impressed by Mahmuti Efes all these years that Blatt's team. If 'team' can describe it properly...

I mean, where are the Turk players?

I remember watching Efes live 3 years ago with Solomon, Domercant, Prkacin, a tall Turk guy who plays for BJK now, Popovic and so on, I was impressed, but now... this team has no character...

I prefer watching Fener games, but with Kutluay out of the picture, Fener has lost the outside shot advantage and without Turkcan they lost the rebounding advantage against Pana low front court. I didn't expect anything better from them tonight. Solomon will always lose against Panathinaikos <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Rolleyes' />

What can you say about Panathinaikos? If 4-5 players are not on their day someone else will be and he will win the game on his own. Jasikevicius was partying and the biggest Euroleague crowd was celebrating with him.

Žalgiris 88-75 Olympiacos

Panathinaikos 88-68 Fenerbahce

Maccabi Elite 91-76 AJ Milano

Chorale Roanne 68-82 Real Madrid

Olimpija 75-60 Virtus VidiVici

Partizan Igokea 85-37 Brose Baskets

Every time when I say something bad about Žalgiris they do something opposite. A win yesterday was well deserved. I expected Olympiacos to be much stronger even without Macas. Gershon teams are always attacking minded. That is a good thing for Žalgiris because they also play similar type of basketball. The only way to win such games is simply to outscore the opponents because of an open basketball being played. A shame that the greens couldn't hold on their 25 point advantage and let Oly to come closer and even shorten the gap to 13 points as +16pt win would have guaranteed Žalgiris 4th place in the group.

It looks like Partizan totally destroyed Bamberg. There's a defensive basketball for you, Bauermann.

That also impresses me. I always appreciate coaches who manage to get most of their players. And I think that Trifunovic does exactly that. The team work well together. If one player has a bad day, like Eidson had against Unicaja, there's someone else who can step up and it was Gecevičius that time. These are the things that I often miss in Žalgiris.

This is the worst Efes team i've ever watched. We have a lot of problems. We have 6 Americans and we play in euroleague!(not in cba) Efes not consider in defence especially Woods and Hutson are sucks in defence.

In past years Efes' foreigners were more quality than current foreigners. for example M.Brown,Langdon,Domercant,Solomon,Drobnjak,Naumoski(the best),Mulaomerovic,Stombergas etc. There was always minimum 2 Europeans. I have same idea for Turkish players quality.

For Turkish players, i believe that only Kerem and Ermal have enough quality for euroleague. I dont like Serkan's style. He is only shooter.

On Wednesday night i remembered the game between Olympiakos-Efes which Efes defeated Olympiakos in Piraeus by 51 points(59-110). That time was pretty good. And now i've no hope for future.

This season is so exciting. People start dreaming about Final Four with Rytas there. It's better to drean now while there are chances rather than saying "we could have played in Final Four" when that's impossible. Nielsen absence could hurt Rytas but I think that Trifunovic will find a way to cover that.
