Quote:The EuroBasket 2009 preparations in Poland are continuing according to plan, FIBA Europe Secretary General Nar Zanolin corroborated Monday.
Mr. Zanolin led a FIBA Europe delegation who visited the venues of the tournament and discussed organizational matters with its organizing committee, headed by the Polish Basketball Federation president Roman Ludwiczuk.
"The EuroBasket 2009 organisers have now appointed most departmental heads within the organizing committee and I have received assurances that the few ones missing will also be in place very soon," said Zanolin.
One open question before the latest visit was the capacity of the Final Round venue in Katowice.
"The Mayor of Katowice has now confirmed to us that the venue will seat over 11,500 spectators, with a possible option to amplify further, so that is not an issue anymore," commented Zanolin.
EuroBasket 2009 will take place in seven Polish cities from 7-20 September 2009.

I heard that Poland is not ready yet for Eurobasket 2009. Could anyone tell me which venues are finished already?

Firs of all welcome to the forum and thanks for the info. I am sure there will be thousands of Lithuanian fans travelling to Poland. If we get a strong team (which is not so sure as many retirements are expected after Olympics), then hopefully the arena will be filled in every game <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Official trailer

Is it me or does the narrator pronounced "battle" as "buttle"? <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' /> I think that the video is a bit too long.

Wow, the Wroclaw arena has an unusual architectural style for a basketball arena. I like it.
