Another shitty game by Panathinaikos who is struggling with the role distribution to the many guards there are around...

Now the top spot of the group will be decided in Siena-PAO next week...

It was quite an easy walk for Rytas last night. I expected a tougher game. Aris now are in trouble. The chances of going through are very slim for them. Rytas have everything in their hands and I believe that a game away against TAU will decide group winner.

I think Panathinaikos will recover. Although they had very close wins in most of their first round games.

I'm hoping for a good perfromance from Žalgiris tonight.

Žalgiris 101-82 Maccabi

Lottomatica 75-67 Unicaja

Real Madrid 80-70 Olympiakos

A nice win by Žalgiris. It was an offensive match and the team that had more players who can score won. This win puts Žalgiris in a very good position to fight for 2nd spot in the group or even the 1st one if they are very lucky.

Lottomatica is showing a different face in Top 16. They gave a very tough game to CSKA and now they defeated Group B runner-up.

Olympiakos are in a big trouble. The next week could be decisive. If they lose, then they are out for sure.

I disagree with u vilius, Zalgiris won at home. it' doesn't make it's way to the next stage no matter how u look at it, teams must get a win or two away and not losing to no one at home. till now Zalgiris won at home only.

For the game, it's hard to say that as a maccabi fan but gosh I love the Lithuanian basketball! Maccabi played good tll allmost the end of 2nd Q by not letting the shooters to get good shots, but at the 2nd half some how Maccabi looked very tired and the 3's didn't stoped to fall in. Some how maccabi VS a lithuanian team it's allways the same : most of the time Maccabi loses most of the time by good 3 precentage and agressive rebounding.

p.s

macilius is a good player but a complete jirk, too bad he did what he did when his team led by 25 too bad he didn't do that before the 4th Q maybe it could have help maccabi. any way the ref's were ok, made great mistakes for both sides <!-- sBiggrin --><!-- sBiggrin -->

I didn't say that the win gives them a place in quarter-final but I believe that it wa very important. If they manage to win next week in Pireaus, then the chances are good. It looked like Žalgiris got rid of the home team syndrome against Real Madrid. Maybe it was just an exception. Who knows. To me the team look more solid with the new signings.

I think Rytas looked great, even if it's front like is Zuka and some other tall dude, the team manged to fight Maccabi, but let's not forget Maccabi came without Fizer and nikola. When Batista was'nt tired he alone made Zalgiris look bad, I think Zalgiris will have ard time against teams with more than 2 big guys, much like maccabi suposed to be.
