Your basketball injuries
#1
If not all of us, then at least most of us play basketball. Since it is an intensive sport the risk of getting an injury is quite high. What were your worst injuries? What consequences did they have in your life? We are ready to listen to some creepy stories.

I had many minor injuries. I'll tell about the ones that I remember. I had twisted tarsus on both legs for a number of times. The last time was this winter in December. And it was pretty bad. I had no problem with them until it happened once a few years ago and then my tarsus became weaker and easier to twist.

Once I was dunking of the springboard to the basket but my hands somehow slipped and fell on the left side. Everyone's eyes around me were like <!-- sShock --><!-- sShock --> I hurted my both wrists seriously. I felt the pain for a couple of weeks and I couldn't move them.

In Oct of 2002 I was playing pick up games in Germany and some dumb*** who didnt know how to play very well went for a pump fake I had given and right as I tried to go up he fell and collapsed my rt knee. (there goes my German league playing days and my contract....)

The hospital told me that I had severely stretched my MCL and PCL and had torn catriledge in my knee. I was on crutches for a long while and then went threw different treatments and exercises trying to rehab.

Didnt work...

I arthroscopic knee surgery in Oct 05 to fix remove all the loose cartiledge in my rt knee and that put me on the shelf for about 6-9 months...

Even now I have tendonosis on my patellar tendon (the on that connect the shin/foot to the knee cap) which means it is slowly deteorating on its own.

I can run a little but after a while it hurts like crazy.... there is no short term or real long term fix.

Playing a game about two years ago.

I went up for a rebound over the other teams 2 gaurd, he wasn't that big of a guy. So yeah, I jumped pretty high over him, and grabbed the ball. Then something happened where he took me out of the air and I landed on my knee from about 3 feet up. My shin bone literally popped out of my skin and I had to have surgery on my knee,

Know when I bend my leg it cracks pretty viscously.

3 years ago i tore my right knee cartelige and fractured my knee cap I broke my collar bone snapped my left elbow and had to have reconstructive surgery on my left wrist, all this in 1 car crash (if only i had worn a seat belt). I only picked up a basketball one week ago and have had to become right handed since.

It's not big deal but last year I was playing 2vs2 in the school and I jumped to get a rebound but didn't see that the other man was my teammate and when i jumped he hit me with his elbow and 1 of mine teeths fall out. He was about 35cm longer than me(I was about 1,55 he was about 1.90). Of course it was milk-tooth it wasn't good feeling.
