What EL clubs should do at summer
#1
Let's talk about it :

Maccabi : cut Nikola and Cummings cuz Nikola is only a shadow of what he used to be and Cummings well he didnt adapt to maccabi for a whole year. Maccabi should make a great effort to keep morris and caspi, Sign a new quality PG and SF.

PAO get lose of some over weight at guards and bring some quality SF . Besdides that they got allmost anything.

Barcelona
should make a real good effort to bring a quality coach (I can name Blat) and finaly bring a good C insted of Marconato. their gurads line is good enough but need more organized tactics.

well.. I'm tired I will let u guys to complete the rest.

Olympiakos needs surely a top class playmaker like Papaloukas or Planinic. We also need a good power forward like Fotsis or Massey, and of course a top class shooting guard IF only Macas will not be able to help the team, once again.

He will not be able to help the team once again in Geek A1 Playoffs and of course he already has almost 2 WHOLE years without helping the team, and be paid around 4.5 million euros. Of course, I'm sure Aggelopoulos bros will try to help him, but there is NO tolerance any more, from Oly's fans.

And that's not the worst thing about Macas and oly <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' /> the worst thing is that he got (if I rememebr) one more year with a 4.5Me salary .... ho boy.. I think he's the reason for OLY not being sucsesful lately.

Well, no. Macas wasn't the main reason. Pinhas was THE one... <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' />

Žalgiris - the club declares the plans to have an all-Lithuanian team in a 4-5 year period. That sounds like a good idea. But we must not forget that our best players will move to the top clubs sooner or later so it is extremely difficult to keep them in Lithuania. Žalgiris GM already said that there will be less foreigner next season. In my opinion the first move that the club should change is the coach. He can stay if the club aims for Top 16 position in EL and challenge for LKL title. Yes, Grigas qualified for Top 16, yes he won LKF Cup and BBL and could win LKL but I still fail to see great coach in him. The club should invest in an experienced coach such as Jonas Kazlauskas if they want Lithuanian one and get rid of some foreign players. Good coach can get good results with a weaker team and a poor one can never be near those results. Plus having a good coach would help the plan to have a Lithuanian squad in future. Young players would get more chances to play and would progress faster. Žalgiris's budget is limited so I'd say keep Collins, Brown, Popovic (only if his potential is used) and get a good center. Other foreigners should be released. Keep Lithuanian players except Šalenga. He had a bad season and he's not getting any younger. They could try to attract Jasaitis. His price should drop significantly in summer. Though he might not want to join Rytas's worst enemy. Another player who in my opinion would be a good signing is Donatas Zavackas.

You Vilius, think that Zalgiris will make a move for Seibutis, if his contract will be terminated this summer ? I think coach G ( Giannakis <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tongue' /> ) doesn't really trust him so much.

I doubt so, they'd rather sign some veteran <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thudown.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' /> Personally I'd like to see him in Žalgiris.
