2008/09 European signings and rumours
#1
Let's start talking about the signings and rumours for 2008/2009 season.

Krepsinis.net reports that Žalgiris's potential news investors MG Baltic are looking at the contracts of Lithuanin players playing abroad. They are negotiating Robertas Javtokas whose contract runs out this summer. It would really good to see more money invested in the club.

What other players they might be looking at? Jasaitis, Seibutis, Kavaliauskas, Klimavicius? They obviously can't afford to sign stars like Šiška or Macas.

Maccabi are interested in Hollis Price as a possible replacement for Vonteego Cummings.

Dejan Milojevic is attracting interest of Russian, Ukrainian and Lithuanian clubs.
#3
TAU and Valencia are interested in former Olympiakos player, Marc Jackson.

TAU is also looking to recruit a player from the Greek A1, from a team that has been knocked out of the play-offs, especially a guard to fill for Planinic and Rakocevic.

Aris' Greek SG Eliades' names has come up...

On other news Gershon confirmed that he has plenty of offers in his hands but ruled out Russia and Israel as his next career stop. He will probably sign with a team from Spain, Italy or France.
Respect and thanks for everything:

Alvertis, Bodiroga, Jasikevicius, Radja, Wilkins, Vrankovic, Fotsis, Rebraca, Kattash, Gentile, Koch, Middleton, Kutluay, Rogers, Papadopoulos, Becirovic, Tomasevic, Siskauskas, Pekovic, Lakovic, Vujanic, Chatzivrettas, Maljkovic, Spanoulis and many more to follow in the near future.

Papaloukas could leave CSKA Moscow and sign a contract with Olympiakos.

Well, I think there is no buy out in Papaloukas contract btw. He can leave Russia for Greece ( and only Greece ) whenever he wants, without paying something. Anyway, would be a great addition to Olympiakos, one of the best pgs in Europe.

I personally don't. As for the matter above, lets say we will have:

PG: Papaloukas, Blackney, Teodosic ( and maybe one more addition, Greek probably )

SG: Macijauskas, Greer, Vasiliades(?)

Don't forget that Greer is a combo guard ( a very good one ), and in my opinion, he can play even better as shooting guard, than point guard.

According to http://www.ynet.co.il, Zisis is going to leave CSKA, too.
#14
Hollis Price will leave Lietuvos rytas. Maccabi might be his next club.

Kenan Bajramovic could also leave the team because of buy-out clause. Several teams are interested in him.
#15
Maccabi made an offer for David Blatt. Sharon Drucker is another candidate.

Right. It was published in http://www.sport5.co.il

I hope that Blatt will be next and not Drucker. (Unfortunetley, Gershon is impossible).

Concerning Price, I prefer Collins, Saras or Shamons Williams instead.
#17
Jonas Maciulis could leave Zalgiris if the club cannot offer the contract which he wants.
#18
Olympiakos is trying to sign CSKA Moscow's Greek guards, Thodoris Papaloukas ( AAAAAAAAAA hooray!!!! , sorry for the inconvenience ) and Nickolas Zisis.
#19
Drucker in isreali Basketball show : "I was very close to sign wuth Fortitudo, but GM Savic wants a serbian coach...".
#20
Rytas signed Zavackas from Siauliai. He is good 3pt, but I dont think that he will be important for Rytas team
