2008/09 European signings and rumours
But will they have enough money to bring players of that calibre? I mean, they were close to closing some days ago, Romanov saved them, but is their financial status already that good?

Little is known about their financial situation at the moment. But it seems that Romanov is sure to solve all the problems and form a strong team for the next season.
Latest reports suggest that Chuck Eidson will sign a 2-year contract with TAU Ceramica. He should earn $2.6M per season.

TAU giving a player 2.6m per year? Man and I thought the economic crisis would correct the overrated players' prices in Euroleague.
Respect and thanks for everything:

Alvertis, Bodiroga, Jasikevicius, Radja, Wilkins, Vrankovic, Fotsis, Rebraca, Kattash, Gentile, Koch, Middleton, Kutluay, Rogers, Papadopoulos, Becirovic, Tomasevic, Siskauskas, Pekovic, Lakovic, Vujanic, Chatzivrettas, Maljkovic, Spanoulis and many more to follow in the near future.

Eidson deny this rumour after the 100:94 over Zalgiris.

Mean while, maccabi confirms that Eidson will play in Yellow next seaon, allmost done deal.

Anderson from Cibona is very close, too.
The new rumours is that in the inside positions, maccabi chack about D. Lavrinovic and P. Jankunas.

Nothing official and far from deals, but chacking.

The open question is Arroyo. big doubt about his staying in the team as a 7ht foreigner. (I mean: Maccabi want only 6 foreigners)
Maroussi interested in Jeremy Tyler.

Maroussi BC announced via its official website that the agent of american basketball prodigy Jeremy Tyler(2.11-PF/C), Sonny Vaccaro asked to meet them. Vaccaro is in Greece these days trying to secure a high profile contract for his client and Maroussi did not miss the opportunity to step in. Maroussi did bring another player from the States last season, american greek small forward Pat Calathes(2.07-SF) who is the older brother of the Gators star and this year's draft contestant, Nick Calathes (2.00-PG).

Sonny Vaccaro had a long meeting with the GM of Maroussi, Panayiotis Alexandris discussing in details the abilities of Jeremy Tyler and whether Maroussi would be a suitable team for him to develop his skills. The announcement said that Vaccaro will meet with other european teams as well and that he will stay in touch with the administration of Maroussi leaving the possibility of a deal open.

According to lithuanian portal krepsinis.net, Terrence Morris(2.07-PF) is going to leave CSKA in the summer. One might say that this will be part of the cost cutting program as Morris' contract is quite high for what he has offered this season. It is estimated to be in the region of 2 million dollars per season. The article says that Morris' contract with CSKA will be ended with a mutual agreement.

Terrence Morris had an impressive last season with Maccabi helping his team reach the Euroleague final where they lost to CSKA. Morris averaged 12.4 points 8.3 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game. This season 6.7 points 4.9 rebounds and 1 blocks in 21 games in the Euroleague for CSKA again playing in the Euroleague final for 2 seasons in a row!

Ponkrashov to St. Petersburg?

Anton Ponkrashov(2.00-PG/SG) commented on the idea of him playing for Spartak St. Petersburg next season in an interview that was recorded by sportsdaily.ru. He said that he has still has a contract with CSKA Moscow and that he will speak to them in July about it.

Until then Ponkrashov is a player of Khimki(on loan) and now that Khimki and CSKA will meet in the russian league's play-offs questions like that can be difficult to answer. Ponkrashov was diplomatic saying that it is not up to him but he would like to play for St. Petersburg that is his hometown after all. Ponkrashov has averaged 7.6 points 2.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 29 games so far for the russian Superleague.

I just wander when the media will connect between Morris and Maccabi. <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/crazy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Crazy' />
It seems that Maccabi also want Darjus Lavrinovic.

Maccabi Haifa in Israel want Jeremy Tyler (a bit old news, but still relevant)...thought he chances of his arrival are apparently slim.

Siskauskas renewed his contract with CSKA until 2011.

U R right. It was published here on Friday, but I doubt if Haifa can fight against big teams to have Tyler.
