Reaction on Shaq's Rap?

As if losing the NBA Finals last week to the Boston Celtics wasn't enough, now Kobe Bryant is getting dissed by rival Shaquille O'Neal in public.

O'Neal, who has long said he is no fan of Bryant's, took the microphone at a New York club on Sunday night and unleashed a tirade about Bryant, blaming his ex-teammate for ruining his marriage in a rap, video of which was posted on TMZ.com. O'Neal spent several verses mocking Bryant for losing the NBA playoffs. "Kobe, couldn't do without me," O'Neal raps.

O'Neal downplayed the rap on Monday. "I was freestyling. That's all. It was all done in fun. Nothing serious whatsoever," he told ESPN.com. "That is what MCs do. They freestyle when called upon. I'm totally cool with Kobe. No issue at all."

oh my god you two can't be serious those guys you just named out are fragile shaq would crush them in his prime. shaq is too strong for them yeah they tall but shaq would just bang them and beat them up. and russel wasn't even a threat he wasn't a scorer he was a defensive player and rebounder. i didn't say shaq was the greatest but i said he would crush those guys back then if he was playing with them in his prime he is too powerful. wilt was playing with a bunch of short white guys no offense to any white people out there i like all races but wilt was ahead of his time and there was no one to guard him then.

Exactly. Shaq wasn't amazing in his prime, he was pretty good, but he couldn't even compare to Kareem in his prime. Or any of those other legends

I agree with Inquest, Shaq was not as good as any of these players in their prime.

However, I think we can forgive the man for having a big ego. Most people have heard of Shaq, even if they don't follow basketball. He's a talisman, almost.

I think he has overdone it this time, though.

Will be interesting to see the reaction from players, if there is any.
