So basketball tryouts were last week, and I couldn't try out.

A whole summer of hard work, gone, I played 6+ hours a day...

But when tryouts came, they said you needed a physical just to tryout, which my mom couldn't pay for. (a physical is basically a doctors approval that you can play sports)

That's really disappointing. Didn't they say that you needed doctors approval bfore the tryout? Are there any chances to get there next time?

They said you needed it before, but my mom couldn't get me one.

Tryouts are over now, but I guess I'll try to get one before next year.

Gog bless America.

Now there is a glorious nation. I'm ashamed for being a European, I mean what kind of nation gives medicals in school for free every year? What kind of nation has free, or next to free health care system? Shame on Europe on being Socialist bastards!
Respect and thanks for everything:

Alvertis, Bodiroga, Jasikevicius, Radja, Wilkins, Vrankovic, Fotsis, Rebraca, Kattash, Gentile, Koch, Middleton, Kutluay, Rogers, Papadopoulos, Becirovic, Tomasevic, Siskauskas, Pekovic, Lakovic, Vujanic, Chatzivrettas, Maljkovic, Spanoulis and many more to follow in the near future.

It's a real shame that you need so much money in order to get somewhere in America. Private healthcare can be a gift and a curse sometimes. Is there anyway your local authorities may sponsor you and pay for your medical? It's in their interest to promote local talent

Well.. you know us Europeans, being all socialist and terrorists... in my school from doctors came and checked us up every year, for free of course.

And of course when you need to be admitted to a hospital, the hospital and the doctors will take care of you, not matter of you got insurance of no.

The hospital will issue a bill, but if you don't pay it, none will come after you.

PS: How can private healthcare be a gift?

It often has shorter waiting lists for transplants, better doctors and equipment, higher quality hospitals in general. I dont really know what your rant was about, I'm from the UK, we have the NHS

Private health care costs, meaning that one has to actually pay money for it. So stating that it is a gift is wrong because the definition of 'gift' is: something given voluntarily without payment in return

Gwynn Park boys basketball coach Steve Matthews knew he would be faced with several tough decisions last week, as varsity basketball tryouts began on Nov. 15. Often, coaches say--with sincerity--that making cuts is the hardest part of their jobs.
