EL Quarter-Finals Game 2
#1
Olympiacos vs Real Madrid

Barcelona vs TAU

Panathinaikos vs Siena

CSKA Moscow vs Partizan

I.e., all home teams win (again) <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tongue' />

It'd be a scandal if Barcelona gets beaten again at home, so I don't think it will happen.

Btw what was the idea behind the second game being again home and not away (or vice-versa) <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/huh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Huh' />

My brain says four home wins tomorrow but my guts say different. In Olympiacos-Real Madrid we will have the fight of the worst coaches of the quarter-finals. Will Vujcic be able to play like that two times in 48 hours, without the help of Bouroussis? Will Papaloukas be able to do his miracle again? If yes, Olympiacos will win, if not Real Madrid will steal this one.

Ivanovic knows Barcelona very well. Plus they will play without pressure since they already made the break. Barcelona bye bye <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tongue' />

The idea was not to kill off the players from March making them fly in and out 3 times.
Respect and thanks for everything:

Alvertis, Bodiroga, Jasikevicius, Radja, Wilkins, Vrankovic, Fotsis, Rebraca, Kattash, Gentile, Koch, Middleton, Kutluay, Rogers, Papadopoulos, Becirovic, Tomasevic, Siskauskas, Pekovic, Lakovic, Vujanic, Chatzivrettas, Maljkovic, Spanoulis and many more to follow in the near future.

I really disliked PAO's attitude towards the end of the game, no fighting whatsoever, what was in Obradovi?'s mind? They didn't foul when they should, time just running out, no tight defense, it looked like they were just waiting for the loss. I really didn't get it.

PAO had 2 fouls, they had two fouls to give, that would take about 10 seconds to do, then another 5 seconds for the 3rd foul and it would be 15 seconds + 2 free throws for Siena (probably McIntyre), so it was better to try and play one clear defense in 20 seconds, which they managed by the way with the difference at -4 but that #%%&* Spanoulis turned the ball over in two seconds!!!

Anyone who was in the arena (like me <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Biggrin' /> ) see that Spanoulis represents everything wrong with this team. There is not 1 possible logical explanation of why Spanoulis runs the point when the same team has both Jasikevicius and Diamantidis. Oh my fucking God! <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/crazy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Crazy' />

Also sitting a few meters from the court with an excellent view I can not believe how tough Siena plays. I am not complaining or anything, just mentioning it, they must be the most dynamic team of the Euroleague. The only PAO players who can match Siena's players in this kind of style are Diamantidis (who being back from injury was at 50% of his physical attributes) and Hatzivrettas who was the only one ready to get in some tough man to man matchups, so respect to him for messing even with Lavrinovic, who is a 'bad boy' <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tongue' />

Anyway, congrats to Siena, huge and deserved win with good game by Kaukenas and McIntyre (again the guards of Siena were having an orgy in the expense of Diamantidis' poor condition).

OH AND PLEASE, SAVE PANATHINAIKOS, GET RID OF SPANOULIS.

PS: Boy, I love Euroleague! <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I told you guys Siena can win in Athens. <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Biggrin' /> They're a very underrated team. If they get past PAO, they probably face Olympiacos in Berlin...a very winnable game.

Looks like Barca exploded in the 2nd half defensively. What's up with all the low scoring quarters lately? Partizan with 3 and 6, Tau with 7...I'm probably missing some more...

No respect for Hatzivrettas at all. He used to be a good player few years ago, but now he's just a garbage time player being used only for his defence which is not anything special BTW. After his moves against Lavrinovic I have no respect for him at all ( there wasn't much before though).

BTW, Black Urum, do you still think Kaukėnas can't play good in important games? <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' /> He was great!

What moves? Everything goes in basketball games, especially in such important games. These are grown up men, most of them huge men in size who can take such hits. Lavrinovic is not the first player to be subject to this defense in such a crucial game. I'll give you a direct example, Macijauskas, who got abused by Hativrettas a lot in OAKA, never bitched about it really and just did his own thing Now that I think of it, Lavrinovic didn't b*tch about it either, so...

Kaukenas was indeed good, very good. He has found the perfect role for him in Siena.

My point was that his elbow was clear unsportsmanlike. Refs didn't see that or didn't want to. That's not the way players should play defence.

Oh relax. They are big boys, they can take it.

If you have played basketball you know that this can happen from time to time. I still remember breaking my nose several times by an elbow in street ball, it doesn't hurt as much as it looks <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tongue' />

With the way Euroball has turned into sissyball I wonder what would happen to Rodman and Malone if they played in Euroleague.
