Olympiakos after Erazem Lorbek: via http://www.talkbasket.net
Quote:The turn to the worst that Bourousis' contract renewal negotiations have taken has made Olympiacos management to examine more solutions, just in case they can't reach a consensus with the Greek center who dominated the Euroleague in the past season.
The name of Erazem Lorbek has surfaced since last night as one of the possible, and main, solutions for the starting center position of next season Olympiacos.
Although the main candidate for Olympiacos' front line is Ksystof Lavrinovic, his transfer could be a tricky business as Motepaschi Siena is not famous for selling their top players, or not selling them cheap. And although Olympiacos has the biggest budget in Europe their presidents have decided to make cuts for the upcoming season and not offer huge and unrealistic contracts to anyone, so it would be rather a surprise if they paid any big buy outs this summer.
Respect and thanks for everything:
Alvertis, Bodiroga, Jasikevicius, Radja, Wilkins, Vrankovic, Fotsis, Rebraca, Kattash, Gentile, Koch, Middleton, Kutluay, Rogers, Papadopoulos, Becirovic, Tomasevic, Siskauskas, Pekovic, Lakovic, Vujanic, Chatzivrettas, Maljkovic, Spanoulis and many more to follow in the near future.

When announcing the decision Velickovic? Its representative said the decision would be soon. See what team has more chances of getting their services?

I think the decision to sign a EU-PF/C like Lorbek or Lavrinovic has been taken before the negotiations with Bourousis. Of course in case Bourousis leaves, Oly will sign another most probably greek player for the front line (Glyniadakis, Mavrokefalidis)

Isn't Mavrokefalides returning anyway? He was on loan no?

Obviouslly he is not in their future plans. Why? You want him in Maccabi? <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/crazy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' />

Forget about CSKA. They don't have any money now. They said they will buy only Russian player and get rid 5/8 of their foreigners as it is.

You have a point there. Yet not all of pao's transfer are known from february on. As for now we know nothing about what Zeljko and the presidents talked about in their latest meetings. Up untill now the only team that has shown concrete interest is Unicaja and possibly it is the best option for him. I guess they will settle for around 800k for the 1st year.

You'll have to see it in a bigger picture:
They have Pekovic, Fotsis, Batiste and Tsartsaris in the frontline. There were rumors about Tsartsaris leaving. That would leave pao with just 3 players in the frontline <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' />

Not more than 400-500k because his contract expires next season and this is a difficult times economically.
