I really don't get his decision...instead of going to a smaller team in Israel or Europe, he decides to be Maccabi's 7th foreign player, who will probably find himself in the same situation as Simmons and Williams last year (warming up the bench). <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Blink' />
Perkins from what ive heard yesterday will be in Maccabi.

Are you seriuos? if a player like Perkins has the opp to play in a team like Maccabi he will take it in Both hands.even if he knows he will be a bench player.

first of all.Maccabi is one of the biggest teams in Europe, pays good money and plays in the Euroleague.

You don't know how much its important if a player has a "Played in Maccabi"(or any big club in Europe) in his CV.so its good for the future too.

Many Israeli league stars (I can count at least 3 last season, in fact, off the top of my head) followed that logic, came to Maccabi, barely played, left after a season and regretted it later on. I get what you're saying, but on the other hand you also want to get some playing time on your team.

This summer, Jerusalem can't compete with the high level players. Perkins asks to 300K $ netto. All the badget that will stay after Aguier (if) around 400K Bruto...

Mach better to Guddes to bring 2 forinegrs in 150 each.

First of all, I wanted him to go to Hapoel (obviously), but that's not my argument here...I was just saying that he's better off having another great season as a main player for a Eurocup team than as a bench warmer for Maccabi in the Euroleague.

Anyway, about the budget, it will be around 3 million dollars after Aguiar's 1.5 mil...subtract from that Lyon's 100K and Naimi's contract (don't remember it exactly), Sasson and Kukia combine for around 200K...Hapoel would have around 2-2.5 million left to spend. 300K would be very affordable with Aguiar, too bad he's taking so long. Simmons reportedly has signed for two seasons, for around 130K.

As I know, the 1.5M$ from Aguier (IF) will go to close all the deficit and only 400K will left to buy players.

This plus 1M that was account in advance, will make it 1.5 all the budget to salarys.
Perkins will be play with Fisher whom he knows from playing in Belgium(those were the 2 stars of the team) played also togheter in Germany. So they each other verry well.

You're right, it is a big IF <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tongue' />

Anyway, you don't understand Hapoel's financial situation. Danny Klein was able to get nearly 3 million dollars from sponsors for this season, including 1 million from Migdal and 1.5-2 more from others. This doesn't include Osem, who will also be a sponsor this season, and reportedly a French-Jewish investor who will add a few hundred thousand more. Half of that 3 million is being used to close the deficit. IF Aguiar does add 1.5 million more, that will be added to nearly 1.5 million left from the sponsors and will make nearly 3 million, minus the salaries of Naimi, Lyons, Sasson, Kukia and reportedly Simmons. I hope that made sense.

I assume that you know better what is going on their, but according to "Che" and some articles, I understand that all the budget goes to cut from the deficit and around 1-1.5 will be to signings.

"IF" we will account Aguier support, it will be only 300K$ addition to the budget.
Perkins and Makel in Maccabi TA officially...

What's up with Rubio? Has he signed for Barca? I think it's pretty stupid to splash 3.7 M to sign a player who will surely leave next year. Well, after all it's their money they can give them everywhere they want...
