Obviously more than you. And the more flaming I get from you the more your warning level will go up. <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Rolleyes' />
And the more you insult others for posting something you don't personally like, the less and less any new members will ever want to join or participate here because of the site mod being a jerk.

ALBA Berlin crashed out of the playoffs yesterday. Definitely a hot wildcard candidate.

I think another realistic possibility is that Bertomeu hands it to a Spanish team in order to calm down ACB and bring them on his side.

I can't see thr 5th Spanish team in EL.

But it means, that we will see Oldenburg or Bonn in Class B next season.

If a russian team will have a good budget, like Kazan, I can see them with a wildcard.

This is a text from site of Serbian national TV (I used translate.google.com) 09.06.2009 :

"Bartomeu and Serbian clubs happy new agreement

Representatives of Serbian clubs EL, Basketball Federation of Serbia and the Adriatic League said that a new agreement on the scoring for EL and change the structure of the Adriatic League represents a compromise, but a significant step for the Serbian basketball.

At the meeting an agreement was reached by which the next two seasons in Serbia EL a Partizan, a season of 2011/2012 in the best competition team players who collect the most points by a new system.

In this system of ranking of 40 percent participation will have the results from the national league and the Adriatic, and 20 percent points come by on the basis of results in European competitions.

In addition, the agreement reached by the will to get to, as the president of FMP Železnik said Nebojsa Covic, change and reconstruction in the Adriatic league organizations, and the ownership structure of anchor, which is the founder of the regional competition.

"We are extremely satisfied with the agreement that meets the goals of all parties. On strengthening the national champion, the Adriatic League and EL.

Owe a great gratitude and serbian clubs and the Association, and the Adriatic League, "said President EL Đordi Bartomeu at a news conference in Belgrade.

Bartomeu added to EL most responsible for the change of ranking and thanked Partizan, which is agreed on the compromise solution.

According to the previous system of ranking, Partizan is on the basis of the results in EL should be the next three seasons to play EL.

"Three years ago the possibility of Partizan to win a three-year contract with EL was real, and the responsibility to change the ranking system is solely to EL. Changes in the system started nine months ago and until now they have almost all agreed," he said.

"I want to thank the people from Partizan to the great kindness and width, because they have accepted this agreement and allow to sign the agreement," he added, and thanked the honorary president of FIBA Borislav Stankovic, who is involved in reaching the agreement.

Partizan Predrag Danilović President said that "black-and-white" accept a compromise in line with the global changes in the system of competition EL.

"Some things we had to adapt. Satisfied that we'll play the next two seasons in EL. I'm glad this is all finished and the compromise which means a better future for Serbian basketball," he said.

General Manager Red Star Milan Opacic said that the Serbian Club overcome a "division of the past and come to a compromise which is very important.

"It will be more considered a national championship, and will, and to changes in the management of the Adriatic ligom. Thank you for Partizan, which supported our proposal that Serbia receives invitation EL, in the case in the 2009/2010 season. National champions can not be 'black-and-white ' "he said.

President FMP and Nebojsa Covic said that it is good that the agreement "survived, and national and regional league and that is good as the guarantor of the agreement Đordi Bartomeu.

This wild card thing is getting out of hand. They are even talking about dropping Maroussi and giving a club their place instead, not a Greek club, but another wild card picked by Jordi. I can see that within 2-3 years Euroleague places might be decided solely on who purchases them and for how much.

The rule is that if a team drops out of the Euroleague, the spot doesn't go to the next ranked team from that country, but the next country in the Euroleague rankings...

So it makes perfect sense...

What happened to your beloved Red Star by the way?

The next ranked team is NOT a wild card. Mods are not supposed to bait or attempt to flame. Shall I report you?

So, after finishing as champions, ASVEL will get the direct spot for France, Orleans and Le Mans [according to Ballineurope, they will get the qualification round wildcard for France], will participate in the preliminaries.

The last still running championship is Europe's easily most glamorous and most important competition, the one in Germany. It could be over as soon as tomorrow, but if Oldenburg steal Game 4, we're in for Game 5 on Thursday. Anyway, after the German finals are finished, Euroleague will soon choose the club getting the C-licence-wildcard.

Then on 8th of July, we will have the big draw. It seems as if [it seems, we cannot say for sure] there will not be another Euroleague assembly before the draw. So ACB, HEBA, Nancy, and others [if there are others] will probably take it to court.

Maroussi, I was told, is going to play with the help of public subsidies [not sure it's the right word, but you know what I mean]

Here is, for now, the updated field of participants:

A - Licences

1 CSKA

2 Panathinaikos

3 Olympiacos

4 Montepaschi

5 Roma

6 Maccabi

7 Zalgiris

8 TAU

9 Barcelona

10 Real

11 Unicaja

12 Efes

13 Fenerbahce

B - Licences

14 ASVEL

15 Rytas

16 Partizan

17 Cibona

18 Olimpija

19 Oldenburg/Bonn

20 Prokom

21 Milano

C - Licence

22 Wildcard

Qualification round

23 Khimki

24 Orleans

25 Benetton

26 Maroussi

27 Chaleroi

28 Ventspils

29 Azovmash

30 Le Mans

My favourites in the qualifiers are Khimki and Benetton. For Maroussi, it depends on the budget. With a roster as strong as last season's, they could have a chance. Azovmash could be able to field a strong team with a budget as high as this year's.

Participating countries

Spain 4+0 [4 direct, 0 preliminaries]

Italy 3+1

Greece 2+1

Lithuania 2+0

Turkey 2+0

France 1+2

Russia 1+1

Israel, Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Germany, Poland all 1+0

Belgium, Latvia, Ukraine all 0+1

They will get help from Marousi (a Northern Athens rich suburb) municipality. They will get 300k euros from them, the rest will be covered by sponsors and their president.

So, looks like Russian league has found an agreement that Khimki will get the C-licence wildcard. That would make place for one more team to go into qualification. It is either the next spot in the ranking [2nd place Serbia], or another wildcard.
