Quote:Barcelona will host the draw of all European club competitions on July 8. The participants of Euroleague (qualifying rounds and group stage), Eurocup and Eurochallenge (both - qualifyong rounds) will all know their rivals.
The draw will begin at 11:00 local time. Both FIBA and ULEB are trying to resolve their differences recently. As a result the draw of all competitions is held at the at the same event.

yeah. After the london plan died it was belgrade and zagreb. Belgrade could not afford to pay the 3mil insurance the euroleague demands so then there was only zagreb. But they didn't have the money immediately either, so more cities showed their interest in hosting the event like rome, tel aviv and barcelona. Imo no city should host the event twice in the span of a decade. That would exclude barcelona and tel aviv

A truly deserved award for him. He did a decent job with Partizan reaching Eurleague playoffs for two years in a row.

Quote:The European basketball transfer summer started slowly, but by the end of August, a large majority of the Euroleague rosters are already complete. Wasnât it supposed to take a little bit longer? One of the two big remaining questions are A) the future whereabouts of Ricky Rubio, <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' /> what surprise Olympiacos is going to come up with next. Patrick Beverley came completely out of the blue.
Hereâs a collection of known Euroleague rosters, including qualification rounds. Faultlessness cannot be guaranteed, however, it should be okay to 99 percent. Teams not included are Orléans and Ventspils. Iâll try to add them later.

That was an excellent article! It's always fun to see the teams' final (or near final) rosters for the upcoming season...familiar faces on different teams, new and exciting players to look out for, new teams, etc. Thanks for putting everything in one place. I'm definitely going to look over that article more than a few times this season to refresh my memory. Also, nice summaries of each team.

Quote:Josh Childress, the player whose signing upset Euroleague and NBA last season has arrived back to Athens to start preparation for a difficult campaign next season and has promised a title to Olympiacos fans.
Immediately after his arrival childress stated to the Greek media:
"I feel really good coming back. I am happy and can't wait for the new season to start. I am sure that we will win a title and make our fans happy this season." Childress stated and concluded:
"The new guy will help the team a lot. They are very good players and their presence will make the team even stronger. It is very positive that the team did not make many changes and have kept the same squad core as last season. We were a very good team last season but I think that this season we will be even stronger after adding bits and pieces that were missing last year."
Childress, Von Wafer and team captain Papaloukas will start training on Tuesday and will join Vasilopoulos, Mavrokefalides, Sloukas, Giannopoulos, Karathanasis and Beverely who already started working out.

Unicaja Malaga's Scottish center and Great Britain National Team member, Robert Archibald, will have to undergo surgery in his right eye and will be sidelined for two to three weeks, missing the start of the season in the ACB.
Archibald received an unintentional hit in the right eye in the game against CB Granada on Friday and after medical examination it was decided that he has to be operated. The surgery will take place later this week due to the swelling still present in the affected area.
