Brooklyn Nets signed Mirza Teletovic!

That's a really really good sign for the Nets! <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

There is a possibility, that their 2011/12 starting lineup will be:

C~ Dwight Howard(?)

PF~ Mirza Teletovic

SF~ Gerald Wallace

SG~ Joe Johnson

PG~ Deron Williams

That's sick!

I don't see how they would have the budget to operate this team and still sign a bench.

Yeah, true.

JJ and Deron alone cover 40m of the salary cap. <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Blink' />

The Joe Johnson trade absolutely blows my mind. The Nets traded every crappy player on a reasonable expiring contract that they had for an average SG on one of the worst contracts in the NBA. The fact that the Nets have cap issues, no trade assets outside of Brook Lopez and that the Magic want to say F' you to Dwight for demanding a trade to the Nets makes me think that this deal will never happen.

Honestly as horrible as I view my Bucks right now I think that they can easily compete against a core of Deron JJ and Gerald with no depth. Hopefully Ersan Ilyasova understands this.

Steve Nash will join the Lakers in a sign and trade that sends draft picks to Phoenix. Brilliant move by the Lakers, this move makes the Lakers the top contenders in the West in my opinion.

Goran Dragic joined Suns! <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Cool' /> <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Deron Williams said he was close to signing with Dallas until the Joe Johnson trade. Any player that would rather play alongside Johnson than Dirk is absolutely insane.

I still think that Howard will be a Laker by the end of the summer. If I'm the Magic the Lakers can offer me a substantially better package than the Nets so Dwight and his preference for Brooklyn can bugger off. Plus a Nash, Kobe, Gasol, Howard lineup would be an almost unbeatable lineup in a seven game series if they are all healthy.

The T'Wolves signed Shved. They have had a really busy offseason now with the signing of Alexey Shved, Brandon Roy and Nicolas Batum to an offer sheet.

Shved is a good signing from the Timberwolves. I think that he will help them a lot. I think he will have a good season next year.

Fran Vazquez says that going to the NBA this year is one of his options

Jason Kidd has signed with the Knicks

Houston will amnesty Luis Scola. Maybe the Spurs will go after him now that Lorbek has signed a new contract with Barcelona

I agree on Shved, if the Blazers don't match Batum's offer then the T'wolves have quietly turned themselves into a really strong team.

I think that a lot of teams will be interested in Scola. I doubt that the Spurs bid would be the highest. Who knows where he'll end up. The amnesty process is a bit unpredictable.

Batum would be a great get for the Timberwolves. More and more young european players are going to them. Today i've read that Shved hasn't signed yet with the Wolves. There is 80 % chance that he will sign with them so we'll have to wait and see what will happen.

It is the same with the situation of Vazquez. He could come over to the Magic this year but I've that he's very close to a contract with Malaga to replace Joel Freeland, who will go to Portland.

Good find, I thought that Shved was already a done deal. What are your thoughts on Vazquez? He never really impressed me and I cannot see him making much of an impact on the NBA if he were to come over.

I expect news about Shved as soon as Portland doesn't match the offer for Batum. About Vazquez, I've mixed feelings about him. I've been following Vazquez throughout his career and at some moments he did some very good things but those moments went away quickly. Defensively he can be a good player in the NBA but he'll have to work very hard, especially on rebound positioning. Offensively he has never been a very good player, the Magic want him to bring over to be a role player. Vazquez would never be more than a solid role player in the NBA. If he goes to the NBA, they will expect him to do what he does for Barcelona: defend and finish off alley-oop or finish on a fast-break. The management of Orlando believe they have a good chance of signing him this year but I think that their chances are droping. Malaga wants him really bad now that Freeland has signed with Portland nand Vazquez like the opportunity to play with the team where it all started for him. But I expect the Magic to make a final run at him before he signs a contract with Malaga.

In the meantime:

Spurs have officially signed Nando De Colo

Blazers have officially signed Joel Freeland

Hornets have officially matched Eric Gordon’s Offer Sheet

There are new trade discussions for Howard, it would be a three-way trade involving the Magic, Lakers and Cavaliers

Haywood has signed with the Bobcats

Phoenix has won the bid for Luis Scola.

The Minnesota Timberwolves have presented their offer sheet for Nic Batum to the Portland Trail Blazers, setting in motion the three-day period the Blazers will have to match the offer

Joey Dorsey will workout tomorrow for the Miami Heat

Brooklyn Nets want to bring over Bojan Bogdanovic but he still has a contract with Fenerbache and Fenerbache doesn't want to let him go

Memphis and Houston have expressed interest in Victor Sada( Regal Barcelona).

Houston also wants to bring Sergio Llull over. Now that Rudy Fernandez has returned to Real Madrid, Houston wants to try to get Sergio Llull. Llull has expressed in the past his desire to play in the NBA but he still has a contract with Real untill 2014.

Blazers To Acquire Draft Rights To Papanikolaou, Printezis In Felton Trade

Knicks, Rockets In Dispute Of When Lin Offer Sheet Was Delivered

Scola will be excellent addition to Suns squad. He and Dragic played really good together. I expect a great season from Suns. <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

^Really? I expect the Suns to be absolutley horrible. As per the past few seasons they still do not have a direction but they may end up with a high lottery pick by accident.

The Knicks fans got their wish after all their booing on draft night with the rights of Papanikolou going to Portland along with Printezis. A nice little additional bonus taken by the Blazers on the Felton trade.

I think Scola will be a good player for the Suns but they will rebuilt this year and they have two good guards in Dragic and Marshall. It will take a time but the Suns will become better

Printezis had on offer to come to the NBA this year from the Knicks but he refused it. His agent said that he would play some day in the NBA but for another franchise. This was before his rights were traded.

Other rumors:

Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and Efes Pilsen are interested in Gustavo Ayon, but I'm hearing that Ayon wants to say in the NBA

http://encestando.es/el-barcelona-y-el-e...ar-la-nba/

The saga around Fran Vazquez is most likely to come to a end. I'm hearing and some newspapers from Malaga are saying that Vazquez has an agreement with Malaga. This would allow Barcelona to get Abrines( a very big Spanish talent) to come to the club). Guess we'll never see how Vazquez would have played in the NBA. But neither Vazquez nor Malaga have confirmed the agreement. It could just be another rumor because nothing is mentionned in other newspapers like AS and Marca. So he have to wait untill he finally makes up his mind.

The Wolves will soon announce their deal with free agent Alexey Shved. It'll be a three-year deal. He impressed the Wolves brass even further in a brief workout last week at Target Center

I'm hearing that the talks between Victor Sada and Memphis are heating up. I except more news in the weeks to come

Jermaine O'Neal will workout for the Lakers

Magic Fans, the saga around Fran Vazquez has come to end.

Fran Vazquez has signed a two-year deal with Malaga. The contract includes a player option of a third season. So Vazquez will never play in the NBA. I think that his family has made the decision for him. I understand that you put you're family first but why did he have to lie about going to the NBA? When he was drafted he said that he would play for the Magic in the future but that day will probably never come. If he stays there for three years he'll be 32 years old. He could still play then but I think that the Magic don't want him anymore.

He had promised many time that he would come over but he never did. He chose for security, an environment that he knows. Vazquez had the label of being a "coward" because he didn't want to face the tough competition in the NBA and that he didn't wanted to be far from home. Many Magic fans believe that Vazquez just used the Magic to get a good deal in Spain and I believe that this could be true.

Fran is a family man and I respect him for that. I also loved him as a roleplayer who gave the team a energy boost. But in my opinion he should have been honest with the Magic organisation. He should have told them that he would never play for them because he had given them false hope that he would come over some day. I could happen when he's 31 or 32 years old but my mind says that Fran will never be a player of the Orlando Magic.

Guys, what are your thoughts about whole this saga?

Honestly, I don't think that many Magic fans would even remember who he is. He was a lottery pick, a wasted one at that but I think that the Magic drafted him based on potential that he never reached. He could have been a bench player for them but as he decided not to come over, no problem.

I agree that Scola will be good in PHX and for the 3 years 13.5m that it will cost the Suns he could be one of the best deals in the NBA but the rest of their team is horrible. They are going to be bad for a very long time. Hopefully its long enough for them to get a feel high draft picks and start over.

$12m a year is insane for Humphries. I don't know what the Nets are doing with their roster. Ilyasova's $8m a year has been one of the best signings of the summer after seeing how other teams are just throwing away money.
