Maric?? I suppose now that Partizan has an "acceptable" bid. They are waiting a day to see if anyone will top the offer in hand. Too bad that Partizan is having trouble keeping the team that was so successful intact. If Partizan chooses to keep Vesley, Kecman, and maybe, just maybe Roberts or McCalebb, they will have a strong nucleus to work with. They may be close to starting again from scratch which is tough for a first year coach.

This is what Partizan does every single year. Every single year they sell their best players. Then they use that money to bring in more young players with good potential. Then they do it over again. 2 years ago it was Pekovic, last year it was Tepic, and this year it is Maric. Kecman already re-signed with Partizan. Vesely isn't going anywhere for now. He won't be leaving until they can sell him for top dollar, which again, is their whole strategy. So maybe next year he will be shopped for a buyout.
If they get what they are asking for Maric, then they will have a bigger budget than they did in recent years. As far as McCalebb goes, he is going to have to lower his salary demands or he is not signing anywhere. He still wants 1 million euros net and no team is biting at all. Like I said earlier, I would think 700,000 euros a season is more what he would command.
He had a great season and was All-Euroleague Second Team in his first season, but just one good year does not make you worth what he is asking for. He would have to have at least 2 seasons on that level I think to ask for that kind of money. Maybe I'm wrong and he will get it somewhere, but I doubt it. Who knows, maybe if Partizan gets that huge buyout for Maric, maybe they will sign him if he accepts a more reasonable salary.
But it does not fit to Partizan's operating procedures. They just don't give more than about 300,000 euros salary in a season and McCalebb could certainly get more than that in another club.
