^ Good point, but I've seen them use video playback to decide a call, and they've STILL got it wrong. Latest one I saw was in the top 16 game in this last WC, Spain-Hellas, tenths of a second before the end of half time, Diamandithis makes a shot from the 3p line and TV playback clearly showed the ball leaving his hand at 0.1 seconds left on the clock, the shot went in. The refs SAW that the shot was made on time before the buzzer yet STILL disallowed the points to be justifiably given to Hellas! There's no excuse for referees obviously messing it up in the world championship, it's supposed to be refs who are the cream of the crop worldwide, just like most teams playing in the WC. Serious oversights/favouritism like this should be criticized like a ton of bricks falling upon them (the refs).
