With European rules TOP Euroleague teams could beat Heat, I'm pretty sure of that. 
And best of NCAA teams could barely play in Euroleague, I think, the best of NCAA could be EuroCup level teams while other absolutely not in the same line. NCAA rules is different also and the most of NCAA players couldn't play using FIBA rules while the most of Europeans could play with NCAA rules.
What's on topic: they just simply don't know or just has no idea what basketball is in Europe.
