I can bet Motiejūnas will find his way through all this stuff. IMO, people are just too scared because many players failed, however you gotta risk, only then those players will become next Gasols/Nowitzkis.



Kleiza wasn't perfectly ready, too, but he improved and became really good player. If you want to succeed, you must risk. Besides that, Motiejūnas fits bettter to the NBA. Valančiūnas is more questionable at the moment.

Let's take some examples..Gallinari: drafted in 2008, season before that he averaged about ~17 eff, similar to Motiejūnas, isn't it? (Milano finished in Euroleague with 3-11 record..and Gallinari was 6th pick...no one expects instant results from so late pick as Motiejūnas'...)



Batum: drafted in 2008 (25th pick), in Euroleague averaged 8.5 ppg, 9.9 eff. Sarthe Basket finished with 2-12.



Dragič: drafted in 2008 (45th pick), averaged 9.7 ppg and 9.6 eff..team's record 4-10.



Bellineli: 2007 18th pick. Averages: 12.8 ppg, 8.9 eff. Record 6-8.

I see your point. If a player is talented enough and have a hight goals, let's give him a shot at the highest stage. And I know that Europeans argument "too weak, too young" is already trivial, but pretty much proven at the same time. You find a lot of failures as well. In NBA fails even really good players. That's why scepticism is healthy here.



Again. A lot of playing time against Euroleague's teams and VTB (that is stronger than Eurocup this year I think), strict coach and leader's role. I don't know what would be better. Playing 5-12 minutes for Euroleague's powerhouse and possibility to train against solid PF? Don't forget Prokom had plenty of close games and Motiejunas is kinda pushed to leaders' role, so it's a hell of experience for him and he still just trying to deal it mentally. That's some school and not regression.



I agree he probably should move to another level next year, but we know that Rockets has Scola, Patrick Patterson. I wouldn't like to see Motiejunas picking up garbage time even in his very first season of NBA.
