The new format is better because it is more open. It's far from perfect but a positive step I guess. Teams from countries that don't have teams in EL will have an opportunity to participate in it. However, such teams will have to expect positive results in other domestic leagues.
From Lithuanian perspective it's good to see that we got 2 spots. Though the second spot would only be given if Zalgiris doesn't win the league. Both Rytas and Zalgiris should have better opportunities to attract sponsors. And even teams like Siauliai could play in EL if they do a miracle and win the league.
