I hate politics in sports... sports should be just sports, nothing else.
Besides, how many Maccabi players are Jewish anyway? Also if the game starts at 6pm and there is an overtime at 19:58 Maccabi won't play the last 3 minutes?

The issue is not the players, the issue is the fans. I get the anger but if it was only politics it was ok. Maccabi is a club that is built on its fans and not only to play stronger on home court but to build its budget-season tickets-obviously and sponsorships and tv rights which pay alot because they're aware of the huge crowd behind the club, also the management is and Jordi should've known that, Mizrahi talked to him about that several times and LONG time before now.
PS-this isn't just a jewish day as there are also Druze(which have a big part) Christian and even Muslim (although not many) soldiers that have fallen, it's a day when the whole nation stops-nothing on TV but stories of the fallen, ceremonies etc. There's 1 minute on the first day @8pm and 2 minutes on the 2nd day in the morning when there's this siren and everybody stops and stands to honor the fallen- getting out of cars, in the middle of work, anything. This day is much more then politics for the Israeli people and involves way too many emotions. Jordi probably didn't want to change it earlier assuming Maccabi won't reach the FF but he's the one to blame becuase this is a day Maccabi CANT play in.
