What kind of city is klaipeda? What can lithuanians say about klaipeda ?

Klaipeda has a unique feel. It was formerly controlled by the Germans and has distinctly German architecture. Like Sagenas said, it's on the sea and is the primary access point for the Curonian Spit (UNESCO World Heritage site). It is also a short skip away from Palanga, which is the pride and joy of all Lithuanians. Palanga is basically a beach town with good food/nightlife that is a focal point for Lithuanian getaways.

I really like Klaipeda, I think that it is a very nice city; however, because it is so unique if Klaipeda was to be the only city on your Lithuanian itinerary you would not get an adequate representation of Lithuania. Make sure you visit either Vilnius and/or Kaunas.

The downside of Klaipeda is also its strength: Location. Whilst Klaipeda's seaside location is a fantastic attribute, it is also about a 5 hour train ride from Vilnius making it quite the excursion to go back and forth.
