New head coach of Sacramento Kings.

Quote:The NBA's Sacramento Kings have named former player and two-time All Star Reggie Theus as their new head coach.



Part of the Kings franchise which moved from Kansas City to Sacramento in 1985, the 49-year-old takes over from Eric Musselman, who was sacked in April.



"I've come full circle, this is an amazing dream for me," he said.



Theus spent 13 seasons in the NBA and is one of only seven players in league history to score at least 19,000 points and dish out 6,000 assists.



He retired from the NBA in 1991 and played in Europe for several seasons.



After returning to the United States he worked in TV before getting into coaching as an assistant at the University of Louisville.



Appointed in June 2006, Musselman lost his job after the Kings failed to make the play-offs for the first time in eight years.



"I remember when it was good here because of the effort, camaraderie and cohesion we had has a team," Theus said.



"The game is supposed to be fun and I don't think the team was having fun last year."
