A record-breaking five-overtime classic - the longest and highest-scoring game ULEB Cup history - not surprisingly produced the regular season Week 5 MVP, too. Goran Nikolic of Alba Berlin recorded the top performance index rating of the week, 45, in a game that will be talked about for a long time, his team's epic 141-127 overtime victory Tuesday against KK Bosna. While staying on court for a record 63 minutes, 40 seconds, Nikolic scored 31 points on 3-for-6 two-point, 6-for-8 three-point and 7-for-7 free-throw shooting, while also collecting 14 rebounds, 4 assists, a steal and 7 fouls drawn, amassing an index rating of 45. Tariq Kirksay of Unics Kazan followed him with a 42 index based on 26 points 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals in his team's road win against EiffelTowers. Lance Williams of Bosna had 34 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks on his way to a 40 index in the five-overtime classic in Berlin. Khalid El-Amin of Turk Telekom (index 39) and Bobby Brown of Alba (35) completed the top individual performances of Week 5.

Individual highs: Bobby Brown, Alba Berlin, 44 points

The Week 5 top scorer also came from the game in Berlin. Alba rookie Bobby Brown, who forced the first, fourth and fifth overtimes, finished with 44 points, the second-most by any player ever in a ULEB Cup game. The record still belongs to Randy Duck, who had 49 points when his team, the Brighton Bears, beat Cholet Basket 112-103 in double overtime on January 27, 2004. Brown has climbed to the 12th place on this season's overall scoring leaders' list (19.4 ppg.), as Michael Wright (24.4 ppg.) of Turk Telekom remains ahead everyone else. Brown's teammate Patrick Femerling and Pero Antic of Lukoil Academic grabbed 16 rebounds apiece to lead the weekly standings. James Thomas of Beghelli Bologna (10.6 rpg.) is the top rebounder of the competition, Femerling ties for ninth place (8 rpg.) and Antic for 12th (7.8 rpg.). Pascal Perrier-David of Benetton Olympic Fribourg not only dished 10 assists to lead the weekly standings, but also became the fourth player to register a triple-double by adding 13 points and 10 rebounds. Todor Stoykov, Meir Tapiro and Elvir Ovcina had registered respective triple-doubles before him. Perrier-David ranks second in assists (6.4 apg.) right behind Willie Deane of Lukoil (6.5 apg.). Michael Bauer of SLUC Nancy, Ken Johnson of Fribourg and Williams of Bosna each had 4 blocks this week. Johnson continues first overall among shot-blockers (4.6 bpg.), Bauer ties for the eighth place (1.8 bpg.) and Wiliams joins a six-way tie for the 10th spot (1.6 bpg.). Xavier Corosine of Elan Chalon collected 5 steals this week. Corosine ranks 117th in the steals list (1.2 spg.), as he had collected 2 in 4 previous ULEB Cup games this season. Brandon Gay of the Antwerp Giants leads all stealers with 3.8 per game. The this was indeed a ULEB Cup week to remember is proven by the fact that 18 players from 15 different teams registered respective double-doubles.
Respect and thanks for everything:

Alvertis, Bodiroga, Jasikevicius, Radja, Wilkins, Vrankovic, Fotsis, Rebraca, Kattash, Gentile, Koch, Middleton, Kutluay, Rogers, Papadopoulos, Becirovic, Tomasevic, Siskauskas, Pekovic, Lakovic, Vujanic, Chatzivrettas, Maljkovic, Spanoulis and many more to follow in the near future.
